Valentine's - Quick and Easy

Hello Everyone!
Popping in to share more of the Valentine's I made for the Cards from The Heart card drive.  This design is quite simple and great for making multiples.  I also used this layout for a thinking of you card.  So, really works great for any type of card.

Make It:

  • Make a card base from white CS
  • Add a narrow strip of dark decorative paper on the left edge
  • Stamp heart or small image on card with Real Red (SU) ink
  • Stamp sentiment on lower edge favoring right edge
  • Tie ribbon around left side of card

Now, take this layout and adapt it to another occasion card:

The sentiment is from My Sentiments Exactly and the bird from Stampin' Up.
I still have more Valentine's to share and lots of other fun things from Technique Junkies.
And, Lost Coast Design--check out the New Stamp Showcase going on now here.  Prize for commenting!!

Valentine's - CAS and One Layer

Hello Friends!
I am sharing more of the Valentine's Day Cards I made for the Cards from the Heart Card Drive organized by Winter.  See all the details on her blog.

I tried it with the card in two orientations.  I like both, portrait is my favorite.  I used this cute heart stamp.  I think I received it in a blog candy.  It sure works great for CAS cards.  The Love is an older Stampin' Up stamp.  Ink: Real Red from Stampin' Up.

Hope you are having a great day.  Doing fine here.  Very cold outside though.  I had to run out to the post office this morning and mail the Valentines to Winter.  I sent 55 cards in.  Hope the kiddies like them!!  Check back next time for Lost Coast designs and Technique Junkies.  Such Fun!  Love ya

Valentine's Card Drive - Lots of hearts

Hello Friends,
Today, I have another of the designs I made for the Cards From the Heart card drive organized by Winter.   See all the details on Winter's  blog.  Since I was die cutting all the felt for the cards I posted yesterday, I decided I might as well die cut hearts from paper. I cut a bunch.

The card bases are made from white and pink CS.  I added a layer of paper.  I stamped little hearts on some of the papers (see below)

I positioned three strips of washi tape onto the DP and then added the heart.  And finished it off with some bakers twine.

I stamped hugs and kisses on this sample.  I used a variety of sentiments on the other samples.

Valentine's Day Card Drive

Hello Dreamers!
Time for Valentines.  As, you know, each year I make Valentine's for Winter's Card drive: Cards from the Heart.  I have 55 cards ready to go out.  I made about six different designs with multiples of each.  The card for today uses felt die cut hearts.  Here is the group:

I started with white and pink CS.  I die cut the felt with a die and my Big Shot.  The felt was pretty easy to cut.  I did add a light cardboard shim to facilitate the cutting.

The hearts were glued to the cs with Fabri-Tac glue.  I did not add any other embellishments as the cards are going to children in hospitals.  That means no items that can be a choking hazard and no glitter, etc... See Winter's blog for all the card drive guidelines.  Cards must be in by Jan 31, 2016.

On the inside, I stamped sentiments from Sweet N Sassy.  I also signed the insides of the cards with my first name and state.  And a smiley face.  LOL

This is a second version that uses a larger die cut felt heart placed over a paper doily heart.

*********Challenges for my Valentines:
Crafting by Design:use red
Crafting from the Heart: anything goes
Fun cuts: a heart
Cards and More: one layer card

Check back tomorrow for another Valentine.  Also a new post with Technique Junkies on Saturday!!  And next week, a New Release event with Lost Coast Designs!!  Fun, fun, fun!!!!  Love ya

WOYWW-Valentines for a Card Drive

Hello Everyone,
It has been a  while since I  visited the Stamping Ground for a peek at all the workdesks around the world .  I thought it would be fun to visit today!  For more info on "What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday" check out  Julia's blog.  I have a different work area now--I moved in October  and am still working on setting everything up.

I have been making Valentines for the "Cards from the Heart" card drive organized by Winter-see her blog for info.  The cards go to hospitalized children on Valentine's day.  I have 55 cards ready to go out.  Here is my desk and table while the work is in progress.  I have a new Ott light that works quite well.  The paint brushed were for some other project and did not get put away.  I am trying out different ribbons with the papers.  The tea cut has a tissue with essential oils on it so my work area smells good.  LOL

The little white tags get stamped later and have ribbon added at the top.  I did not end up using the paper doilies on this design.

Paper selection going on here.

Thought it would be fun to die cut some felt.  I did use these on some CAS Valentines.  I will be posting all the cards though out this month and next.  Here is a sneak peek at the cards.

Well, I am off to check out the workdesks!!  Check back later for a full post on one of the Valentines card.  Hope you are having a great day!  We are getting snow and cold temperatures. Just the perfect day to stay inside and do a little blogging!  I must go make some coffee before I do one more thing!   See you soon!  Love ya
