Valentine's Card Drive - Lots of hearts

Hello Friends,
Today, I have another of the designs I made for the Cards From the Heart card drive organized by Winter.   See all the details on Winter's  blog.  Since I was die cutting all the felt for the cards I posted yesterday, I decided I might as well die cut hearts from paper. I cut a bunch.

The card bases are made from white and pink CS.  I added a layer of paper.  I stamped little hearts on some of the papers (see below)

I positioned three strips of washi tape onto the DP and then added the heart.  And finished it off with some bakers twine.

I stamped hugs and kisses on this sample.  I used a variety of sentiments on the other samples.

*****Challenges for my Valentine's Day card:
Crafting with Attitude:anything goes
Crafty Girls Creations: anything goes
Creative Knockouts: a card for a child
In the Pink: anything goes with pink
Moving along with the times: spots and dots *******

I will post more of the cards next week.  Saturday is Lost Coast Designs day and I have a fun project to share with you.  Check back for more crafty goodness.  Hope you are having a great day in your little corner of the world.  Love ya

Valentine's Day Card Drive

Hello Dreamers!
Time for Valentines.  As, you know, each year I make Valentine's for Winter's Card drive: Cards from the Heart.  I have 55 cards ready to go out.  I made about six different designs with multiples of each.  The card for today uses felt die cut hearts.  Here is the group:

I started with white and pink CS.  I die cut the felt with a die and my Big Shot.  The felt was pretty easy to cut.  I did add a light cardboard shim to facilitate the cutting.

The hearts were glued to the cs with Fabri-Tac glue.  I did not add any other embellishments as the cards are going to children in hospitals.  That means no items that can be a choking hazard and no glitter, etc... See Winter's blog for all the card drive guidelines.  Cards must be in by Jan 31, 2016.

On the inside, I stamped sentiments from Sweet N Sassy.  I also signed the insides of the cards with my first name and state.  And a smiley face.  LOL

This is a second version that uses a larger die cut felt heart placed over a paper doily heart.

*********Challenges for my Valentines:
Crafting by Design:use red
Crafting from the Heart: anything goes
Fun cuts: a heart
Cards and More: one layer card

Check back tomorrow for another Valentine.  Also a new post with Technique Junkies on Saturday!!  And next week, a New Release event with Lost Coast Designs!!  Fun, fun, fun!!!!  Love ya

Medallion Heart Tag

Hello Everyone,
Been super busy, but thought I would pop in  and share this pretty heart tag.   I used Stampin' Up stamps and dies to make this fun tag.

I stamped the Daydream Medallion stamps (Stampin' Up) with Crisp Cantaloupe ink on white CS.  Then die cut the heart.   I added lots of wide ribbon and some lace trim.

I would like to enter my Medallion Heart Tag in:
Love to Scrap Challenge: Anything goes

I will use this on a gift package or, it would be super sweet on a gift bag.   See you soon.  Love ya.

Decorative Paper Doing All the Work-Valentine's

Hello Dreamers!
This is my last Valentine's Day Card post.  I have shared all the Valentine's with you.  I have to run out tomorrow to my favorite candy store.  This store has been in business since the 1950's and still makes all their candies and chocolates.   I will pick up some chocolate hearts for a few special someones.  LOL.  Maybe even one for myself.
Today's cards are made with a pretty decorative paper that had four quadrants printed on it with a heart in each.  How easy is that!  Cut and paste them on.  You could check your stash for something similar.  Or  a pretty print cut in the shape of a heart would work too.

Materials:
Decorative Papers: one with a small print and one with large heart motif (this paper is one I had in my stash for a few years)
CS: reds, wine, pinks
Ink: Real Red - Stampin' Up
Valentine Sentiment stamp-Stampin' Up (retired)
Scallop Circle Punch
Ribbons

  • Make a card base from red CS
  • Layer with decorative paper--I used a paper that coordinates with  the heart motif paper
  • Cut a sheet of 8 x 8 decorative paper into four 4 inch pieces
  • Layer onto a square of red CS
  • Tie ribbon around the smaller square
  • Add to card front

  • Stamp the sentiment with red ink and punch out
  • Add to the card with dimensional adhesive
  • All done!  Very quick ---and that is why I made four!!

A few fun Challenges for my Decorative Paper heart cards:

Crafting for all Seasons: show some Romance

The Stampsmith Floral Alphabet Love Card

Hi Dreamers!
It is totally all about "Love" in Dreamland this week!  On today's card, I spelled out the word LOVE with letters from The Stampsmith's Floral Alphabet.  I added all kinds of pretty embellishments fit for a heartfelt Valentine's Day card.

The letters were stamped with brown ink on pink CS.  I added some color to the letters with markers.
I die cut a heart (A Muse Studios) from Velum.

The doily was hand cut to fit on top of the velum heart.  I used the rest of the doily on the bottom of the card.

I added some red satin ribbon and some tiny rhinestone hearts (A Muse Studios).  And what would a Valentine's Day card be without lots of pearls??!!

So, I like how this turned out.  Again, an example of how you can make a Valentine's Day card with everyday stamps.  This would be pretty with a name instead of Love too.

And, now a few Heart inspired Challenges!!
Flourishes: hearts
Anything Challenge: Vintage/shabby chic
Craft-room: make embellishment--I made the heart
Tuesday Alchemy: hearts
Creative Belli challenge: hearts---paper doilies
Little Red Wagon: love
365 Cards: Word Wednesday-love

Well, I have to get going here.   Have busy day today.  All good stuff.  I hope your day is filled with LOVE.  Love ya.
