For a Friend Vintage Style Card

Hello Friends,
Today's post features a card made with a friend themed stamp.  This is a great card to share with a friend just to let them know you are thinking of them....Even when you are in you studio working away.
I used the same layout and made two cards in totally different color ways.  I used that patterned cardstock again.  The same look could be achieved by using decorative paper that covers the card base completely.

Brown and Green were used in this version.

I used a hot yellow and orange color scheme here.  The patterns were really layered on in this card.  The different patterns add lots of movement on the card without being crazy. The trick is in varying the actual pattern shape in each paper.

Hope you enjoyed this friend themed card.  Have a lovely day!

Sympathy Card with Poppies

Hello Everyone,
Sharing a sympathy card today.  I know sometimes sympathy cards can be difficult. But, I find that If I used any stamp and keep the color scheme sedate, the cards turns out very appropriate.  You don't have to use black.  Just keep it soft.

This is a stamp and die set from Our Daily Bread. Large doily and polka dot background stamps from Stampin' Up.

Gold ink was used to stamp the background and distress inks added.  Shimmer Mist was sprayed onto the background.

The main image was stamped with gray ink and colored with copic markers.

Nice sentiment on the inside.

Thanks for stopping by!!  See again soon!!

Using Long Rectangle Stamps

Hello Dreamers!
Today's post shows how I used a long rectangle shaped stamp--which can sometimes be a challenge.

I made several versions using the same layout and changing the color combos.
A circular sentiment stamp (Stampin' Up) and die cut circles were added.

A piece of chevron ribbon was also added to this card.  Nice card appropriate for anyone's birthday.

So glad you stopped by!!  See you next time with a sympathy card.

Die Cut Bird Cards

Hello Everyone!
Today's post features cards made with some of the fun die cuts and punches we all have in our stashes.  Why not make them the focal point??  Why not indeed.  That is what I did on the following cards.  The bird die cut and bird punch are from Stampin' Up.

There is that patterned card stock again.  I really like the bold impact it makes.
I added some scalloped circles to this bird.

The diamond background was stamped and I added a long strip of washi tape here.

The sentiment was stamped directly onto the decorative paper with a dark ink.

Thanks for stopping by!   Leave a comment letting me know what lovely projects you have been working on!!  Have a great day!

Masculine Birthday and Thank You Cards

Hello Everyone,
Hope all is well with you.  We finally had a bit of a warm up here in Michigan, USA.  Good thing too as my drive way was full of icy snow deposited by a snow plow.  I was hacking away at it for days and now it is finally all gone.

Today I wanted to share a few of the cards I have been making lately.  I have been concentrating on making all occasion cards.  I have a nice collection of over 200 cards now.  Whenever anyone says, "Oh, I need some cards" I can just pull them out of my stash.  Works great for me too when I need a card.  I have also been trying to keep in mind that most of the cards will be mailed.  This requires a bit of restraint in the embellishment department.  LOL

So, here are a few masculine card ideas.

Patterned Card Stock was used on these three cards.

Wolf was stamped on velum and colored on back.

Same paper was used on this card, but a Thanks sentiment was used instead.  Don't be afraid to used all that beautiful decorative paper you have!  Let is shine!  It is certainly worthy of being the focal point as you see here.

So glad you stopped by today.  What have you been up too??  I have also been sewing.  I made a hat and scarf with polar fleece yesterday.  Turned out great and I will probably make another set.  Yardage required is small and works great for my left over pieces of fabric.  Well, see you next time.  Have a super day!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Hello Everyone!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

To celebrate, I am sharing more of the cards I made for the Cards from the Heart Card Drive (hosted by Winter Sims)
The cards are sent to hospitalized children and delivered to them on Valentine's Day.

The cards go to children of all ages.  So, that can be a bit of challenge.  I just try to make something I think any child would like.

I have been making lots of cards lately. I have to get the photos ready and then I can post them.  I have been doing mostly all occasion cards.  I decided to use more of my papers.  You know how it is, you have all these beautiful papers and sometimes you don't want to use them.  LOL  I know, it is silly.  Don't know what I was waiting for....  So, I pulled out all my favorite papers and started cutting.  Actually was really fun.  And, the cards look really pretty.  And, that is what I have been up to.  Also been sewing a lot.

See you again soon.
