Near the Sea

Hello Everyone!
It is Summer!!  Plenty hot here in Michigan, USA. 90 degrees today.  I did quite a bit of yard work today.  Now, I am inside with the air conditioning and having fun making cards.  Today, I made a Summer theme card for the

This card is for week three and the theme is anything and everything Summer.
Technique Junkies stamps must be used on the projects.

This sweet girl is spending time on the beach and forgetting all her troubles.
I used a color pallet the says sand and sea to me: White, blue, and coral pink.

Stamps used:
Beach Girl SD103
By the Sea  (set of six) SS060
Bold Shells S687

To make card:
1)  Stamp Beach Girl on glossy white CS ( this stamp has a lot of detail and this        is how I obtained the best impression).  I stamped with Black Soot Distress          ink.  This ink worked well because it is a very wet ink.  Just make sure to let        the ink dry before handling the piece.
2)  Die cut image.

3)  Make a card base from lite blue CS and layer with coral pink CS.
4)  Stamp the sentiment onto the coral pink CS with Black Soot ink.
5)  Make the shell background by stamping Bold Shells on blackboard CS with          Versa Magic ink, Cloud White.  Make sure ink is completely dry before                handling.
6)   Layer all pieces and add blue tulle and pink ribbon

This image really make me long for about a week at the seaside.  All that fresh air......Oh how dreamy.

So glad you stopped by today.  Happy Summer!!

Girl on a Swing

Hello Friends,
Remember I said I would have something cute for the next post.   Well, what is cuter than a girl on a swing?  Right?  Check two cards made with a stamp from My Favorite Things.

The first card is a birthday card.  I used circle die cuts and added a paper doily.
Coloring is done with Copics.  I added a velvet ribbon

Used the last of  my Kioshi Basic Grey paper on this card.  Light blue cs was used as the layering  and ribbon color.  Also colored the dress blue.

These are such sweet images.  They always make a great card.  So glad you stopped by.  See you next time!

Owls Party All Night

Hello Everyone!
Let's party like owls...All night!  Here is a fun card with a cute party animal.  I just added a fussy cut party hat to transform this  owl into a birthday themed card.
This owl is from Lost Coast Designs.
The background is made from dry embossed paper speckled with ink.

Below are two more owl themed cards.  These are great to send for an anytime card...Just to say hello or thanks.
Each card has a punched edge and some fun papers.

Owl be seeing you for the next post..... It will be something nice, for sure. Not sure what, but it will be nice.  Something cute, I think.  See you then.  I hope you are having a nice day.  Do something crafty.  It is therapeutic.

Lotus Flower Subtle Colored Card

Hello Everyone,
Taking some time out from working in the yard to post a few of the cards I have been making.
This card has a dry embossed background distressed with a metallic pigment ink.
The image is stamped with black ink.  I did minimal coloring by only coloring the lotus flower.

I used peach and lavender CS on the card.

The only embellishment is the narrow black/white ribbon.

I like the subtle color scheme and minimal coloring.  Makes a soft, calming card.

I have been making lots of cards, so stay tuned for more......
I think I will post some owl themed cards next time.  See you then.

Fairy Birthday Cards

Hello Everyone,
Welcome to my blog.  Today, I have three cute birthday cards that feature a stamp from My Favorite Things.  I made these cards for my friend's granddaughters.  They love pink, purple, and fairies.  The green card is for another friend who has lots of nieces.
All were colored with copic markers.

A pretty trim was added to this card:

I cut four rectangles from two papers and nipped the outside corners of each rectangle for the background here:

A paper doily was used to enhance the background on this card.

Just some fun cards to make.  And, a good way to use a few sheets of my over large decorative paper stash.  LOL.

See you next time with a card featuring a Lotus flower.
