Near the Sea

Hello Everyone!
It is Summer!!  Plenty hot here in Michigan, USA. 90 degrees today.  I did quite a bit of yard work today.  Now, I am inside with the air conditioning and having fun making cards.  Today, I made a Summer theme card for the

This card is for week three and the theme is anything and everything Summer.
Technique Junkies stamps must be used on the projects.

This sweet girl is spending time on the beach and forgetting all her troubles.
I used a color pallet the says sand and sea to me: White, blue, and coral pink.

Stamps used:
Beach Girl SD103
By the Sea  (set of six) SS060
Bold Shells S687

To make card:
1)  Stamp Beach Girl on glossy white CS ( this stamp has a lot of detail and this        is how I obtained the best impression).  I stamped with Black Soot Distress          ink.  This ink worked well because it is a very wet ink.  Just make sure to let        the ink dry before handling the piece.
2)  Die cut image.

3)  Make a card base from lite blue CS and layer with coral pink CS.
4)  Stamp the sentiment onto the coral pink CS with Black Soot ink.
5)  Make the shell background by stamping Bold Shells on blackboard CS with          Versa Magic ink, Cloud White.  Make sure ink is completely dry before                handling.
6)   Layer all pieces and add blue tulle and pink ribbon

This image really make me long for about a week at the seaside.  All that fresh air......Oh how dreamy.

So glad you stopped by today.  Happy Summer!!

What We Do Best Event with Technique Junkies week 4

Hello Everyone,
Hope you are doing well.  Doing good here. Still under stay at home order here in Michigan.  During my at home time,  I have been making lots and lots of cards.  And,  I decided to participate in the Event going on over on the  Technique Junkies Blog ( see all the details on the blog).  They are hosting a What We Do Best (WWDB) event on their blog and on Facebook.  This is week four of the event and the theme is make an encouragement card and envelope.

Stamps: All from Technique Junkies
Afternoon Tea
Always Find a Song

Card and envelope:

Image was stamped with black Memento Ink and colored with copic markers.  Then die cut and layered onto a purple card base.

TIP: when coloring on the envelope, which is fairly thin paper, I placed a piece of cardstock on the inside of the envelope.  And, then stamped and colored the image.  The cardstock soaked up any bleed thru of the ink and Copic Marker.  This kept the other side of the envelope nice and clean.

Card was embellished with a wide sheer ribbon and pearls.

Inside:
Fussy cut the bird and stamped the sentiment with black ink.  I used a lavender copic marker to colored in the letters on the sentiment.

Love this tea cup image.  I love all things tea and coffee.  And, the fact that there is also a bird on the image is a major plus ...for me.  LOL  Love birds too.  This is the final week for the WWDB event.

Next post I will be continuing with my girly birthday cards.... So see you then.  So happy you stopped by and hope you are having a great day.

Special Christmas Event with Technique Junkies

Hello Everyone!
I am just popping in today with an announcement of a fun Holiday event.
The Technique Junkies will be celebrating the Holidays with ............

The Thirty Days of Christmas

When: November 15 - December 15

The Design Team will be sharing Christmas/Holiday projects using Technique Junkie Stamps.  All Christmas stamps will be on sale during the event--
25% off!!

And to get you in the Holiday mood, I have a few Christmas cards to share.

For this collection of cards, I decided to use some of those gorgeous DPs in my stash.  The Technique Junkies sentiment "All is Calm" was stamped with Teal Zeal Momento ink; die cut and added to the DP backgrounds.

The second collection of vintage card uses the TJ stamp "Angel with Lute".  Which, I will add, is a great stamp for vintage style cards.  I made five versions of this card for my Christmas card giving basket.  I used dry embossing, decorative papers, ribbons, and distress inks to make the cards.

The stamps on these projects will be 25% off   Nov 15-  Dec 15!!!
See you soon with more Holiday inspirations!!
