Pieced Background Thinking of You

Hello,

Welcome back to one more post using this lovely pieced background design.  I did not leave any space between the cut pieces on the two cards.   I embellished the first card with sheer ribbons and silk flowers.  The sentiment was stamped with dark peach ink and fussy cut.

The second card was embellished with satin ribbon, silk flowers, and bridal type spray.
This could also could be used as a wedding card.

Hoped you enjoyed the pieced background a la quilt style cards.  Glad you stopped by today.

Coffee as Therapy with the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop

 Hello Fellow Coffee Lovers,

In fact I need another cup of Joe right now... Okay, back now and ready to blog.

This is a great hop and I am enjoying checking out all the coffee themed projects!!

Coffee is good therapy, right?   I made this card for fun to send to my coffee drinking card loving friends.  I made four altogether.  I will share the other versions in the next post.

The owl and the sentiment are from Gina K designs: Wise Old Owl and Coffee Therapy. I used  peach and aqua for the color scheme.  The owls were stamped with archival black ink and colored with markers.  A sheer coral ribbon was added to complete the card.

Thanks for stopping by!

Coffee Loving Blog Hop

 Hello Everyone,

Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog is having a Coffee lover's blog hop!  Lots of super cute inspiration for all us coffee loving cardmakers.

I combined the coffee theme with another of my favorite stamp themes: owls!  I made a whole stack of owl coffee cards that I will be sharing  through out the hop.

The owl stamp is from "Sweater Weather" from My Favorite Things.  The sentiment is from Echo Park.  I fussy cut the owls and layered them onto a die cut coffee cup.  I added a pretty coral colored ribbon.

Be back next time with more owl coffee cards!!

Tea Cup with Pieced Background

 Hello Friends,

Back today with more of my pieced backgrounds a la quilt style.  I added a stamped and die cut tea cup on this card (Stampin' Up).  The papers are all in prints and shades of peach.

I also added a peach ribbon and peach bakers twine.
On the inside, I stamped a birthday sentiment and added another tea cup.

I have two more cards in this design to share in the next post.  See you then.

Pieced Background Cards

 Hello Everyone,

Back today with cards made with a pieced background.  I sliced the papers up with a rotary cutter like making a quilt.  The first card features a large sentiment stamp (Stampin' Up) stamped with gray ink and fussy cut.  I added a sheer ribbon and metal buttons to complete the design.

On the second card, I stamped an Eiffel Tower image directly onto the decorative paper.  I had that Eiffel Tower ribbon in my stash.  More metal buttons were used and a small stamped sentiment.

The third card features a small sentiment stamped on velum, pleated ribbon, and silk flowers.

This design was fun and had a lot of scope.  I made quite a few of this type of card.  I shall post more of the cards in the next post.

So glad you stopped by today.

Using Fabric in Your Cards

 Hello Everyone,

Today, I have two cards that utilize fabric. I ironed on a piece of interfacing to the back of the fabric.  You don't have to do this, but it just makes the fabric firmer.  Then just stamp on the fabric.  Archival ink was used on the cards.  I cut the fabric into the shape of a tag.

Flowers are stamped on the fabric here using a gray ink.

Bonus card made with left over papers.  Flowers were stamped on cardstock here.

So glad you stopped by today!
