Cork Stamped Background Card

Hello Crafty Goddesses!
I saved the cork from a bottle of wine and decided to try stamping with it. Stamping with found objects is not a new idea, but I thought this turned out pretty fun.  I made this card with my sis, Sandie.  We were hanging out sitting on the patio and just really enjoying the outdoors and each others company.  Checking out the butterflies and hummingbirds.
Here is our collaboration: ( Sent the card to Sandie after finishing it up--She loved it!)

The cork was inked right from the ink pad and stamped.  I did not re-ink after stamping, but stamped three times before re-inking. You can see the cork in photo below.

We added this die cut flower.  I added all the layers, baker's twine,  and it was done.  I will certainly make more of these backgrounds.

I am thinking of ways to use for Holiday cards....hmmmm.  What do you think?
Hope you are having a great day.  See you soon!

Classy Gentleman

Hello Everyone!
I am currently working on Christmas cards.  I still have lots of work to do on those, but I will share them with you when done.

Today, I have a gentleman's birthday card.  This one was a special order.   I always ask about the person who will receive the card and was told that he was always such a gentleman.  And, this was how I interpreted that info:

I decided on a vintage look and used browns and blues.  This is a stamp I have had for a while from Pink Persimmon (retired).  Check your stash for this stamp!  It is great for masculine cards.

Thanks for stopping by today!  See you next time with a card made with the help of a wine bottle cork.  Sound fun??!!
Have a great day,
Karen

Denim Re-purpose

Hello Everyone!
We had a super nice Thanksgiving this year.  My Mom, Brother, Sister-in-law, nieces and nephews too.  My nephew's girlfriend's parents and brother also joined us for the day.  Just a lovely day all round.  And, lots of good food!!

Today, I have a sewing project to share.  My friend wanted to do something with this super cute denim onesie. She loved the embroidery and wanted to save the denim.  I cut off the bottom that had the snaps.  See photo:

I purchased a pink t-shirt and cut the top off that, gathered the top edge of the t-shirt and sewed it to the denim piece.  The result was this cute dress:

Super fun way to reuse a denim piece!!  Be back next time with a card project.

Thanksgiving Cards

Hello Everyone,
Wanted to share the cards I made to send out to family and friends.  I used pretty papers, paper doilies, and die cuts to make the cards.

The large leaf (this die is from Stampin' Up) is cut from a very wide burlap/metallic ribbon.  It was easy to cut with the die and did not fray much at all.  It really makes the design!  So, check out your ribbon stash when looking for die cutting materials!

This card uses a different shaped leaf, but also has the die cut burlap/metallic ribbon leaf.

The cards were really fun to put together.  I just love the challenge of combining multiple elements.
I would also like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!!

See you soon,
Karen

Mixed Media Pumpkins

Hello Everyone,
I am hosting Thanksgiving dinner this year.  I wanted to put a few Fall decorations.  I put together two pieces: framed decorative paper and a mixed media piece.

I trimmed the pumpkin decorative paper to fit the frame.  Easy and oh so cute.

For the second piece started with a pattern from a quilt book.  I decided I did not have time to make this from fabric.  I traced the shapes on cardstock, cut out and layered with three colors of cardstock.
I added some glitter glue for the details on the pumpkins and leaves.  The tendrils are hemp twine.

The Pumpkins were mounted on a canvas covered with cotton fabric.

I also did another of the framed decorative paper.  I will pick up a couple of the pie size pumpkins and that should make the house look pretty festive.  What do you have going for Thanksgiving this year?

I also have Thanksgiving cards coming up in the next post.
Hope you are having a great day.

See you next time

Fairy Themed Birthday Card

Hello All,
Stopping in to share a cute Birthday card perfect for a child.  This card was made for a sweet four year old.  Here favorite colors are pink  and purple.  Sooooo.....

I used an easel  design and added lots of detail.  The fairy image was colored with copic markers.   The card was also personalized with the child's name.

Second version using same stamp.  Also a birthday card for a sweet 5 year old.

Stamped five word stamps together to create this cute inside sentiment.

Very fun!!  Hope you are having a great day and I will see you again soon.
