Valentine's Day Card with Meljens image

Hi Dreamers!
Are you ready to see some Valentine's Day inspiration???  I have several cards for you today.  The cards are among the 30 that I made for the From The Heart Card Drive--hosted by the lovely Winter.  See the details of the card drive on her blog here.  I used a Meljens Design digital image on this batch of the cards.  Here is a photo of the whole 30 cards.

Let's take a look at this Cute love bunny with a White on White background.

The image was printed out with my computer and colored with Copic Markers.  I added a second layer of Dry embossed White CS.

Here is another version of the same image.

I added a bit more color with this version by adding a layer of pink CS.

And, here, I added some pretty pink Heart paper and some red CS.

The cards have all been sent out to Winter.  She will send them off to Hospitalized Children.  They will be delivered on Valentine's Day.  Isn't that nice!!??  Just sending a little love.  And, for all you Blockheads fans, they are one of the sponsors of the card drive and are offering two stamps sets!!

How about a few Challenges for my Bunny Love Valentine's Day cards:

Aud Sentiments: Bingo-You, embossing, flowers
Crafty Ribbons: love, romance
Craft us Crazy: love or the color red
Card Makin Mamas: CAS

Tomorrow I have a butterfly collagey type card to share with you.  I used Versa Magic dew drops to color. Stayed tuned for that.  I hope you are having a great day!!  Love ya.

  • Use a brick embossing folder (Tim Holtz) on yellow CS to make the brick road.

  • Make a Card Base from Soft Suede CS (Stampin' Up) and add some layers of black and brown CS
  • Stamp the sentiment on Cream CS
  • And, of course, add some pretty ribbon

Isn't this a fun stamp!!  Off they go down the yellow brick road!!   I will be back with more of my OWH cards tomorrow!  Have a great day!  Love ya.

Cute Card with Pretty Dress

Hi Dreamers,
Well, here we go...Today is the first post of all the charity cards I made (70 cards total).  I made three cute little dress cards using a digi from Michelle Perkett.  The cards went out to Operation Write Home.  There are some guidelines to follow for OWH cards: no glitter, A2 size, minimal bumpiness, and blank on the inside.  Here is a photo of all the cards for OWH.

This image is a digi that I printed out on white CS and colored with Markers.  I made three different versions.

Butterflies with Embossed Script with Blockheads

Hi Dreamers!
I am back after a few days off from blogging.  I have been making cards for charities.  I made 30 Valentines' Day cards for "Cards from the Heart Drive"  --Which, by the way, is being sponsored by Blockheads Paper Arts!!!!
I made 30 children's cards for Operation Write Home, and 10 for Card Care Connection.  Whewww!  I'm tired!  LOL.  (I will be showing you the cards through out the month-and probably next month too--there are quite a few cards!)

So,today I am back with more butterflies!!   The Blockheads Designers are going all out showcasing butterflies for the month of January.  For my project, I used several stamps and heat embossing to create a card and tag set.  Perfect for a birthday!

Materials List:
Stamps:
Lepidoptera Large, Medium, and Small single stamps with cling.  (Also available on a half sheet-Grunge Collage)
Script Background
 Travel Documents
Ink:
Versa Mark
Vintage Photo, Scattered Straw, and Dried Marigold Distress Ink
Coffee and Sienna Archival ink
Other:
Clear Embossing Powder
 Pre-cut Tag
CS: cream and dark green
Wired copper and wide green ribbon
Rhinestones

Instructions:

  • On the Manila pre-cut tag and cream CS stamp the Script stamp with Versa Mark ink and heat emboss with clear powder.
  • Cover the tag and CS with Scattered straw Distress ink.  Wipe the ink off the embossed image with a soft cloth or paper towel
  • Cover the right side with the Dried Marigold ink leaving the far left with just the yellow ink.  Wipe the ink off the embossed image.

  • Stamp the butterflies and Travel Document  with coffee Archival ink
  • Wrap the green ribbon around this piece
  • Stamp additional butterflies with Coffee and Sienna ink - cut out

  • Make a card base from dark green CS

I just love the way the embossed image peeks out from the two colors of Distress ink!!  And, all the butterfly action is so sweet!  This will go in my card giving box for someone's birthday.

Well, let's enter a few challenges too!!

Winter Wishes with The Stampsmith

Hi Dreamers!
I would like to say an extra special "Hello" to new followers.  Welcome aboard!  We have fun here in dreamland.  LOL.  Today, let's warm up some icy blue papers with warm winter wishes!  I have made this winter all occasion card with an image from the Flappers #1 Full Sheet by The Stampsmith.

One of the great things about Stampsmith Stamps, is that they make such a great focal point.  All you have to do is layer some paper and presto---a fab card!  I stamped this lovely Flapper with black dye ink on glossy white CS.

I layered the image with black and Not Quite Navy CS (Stampin' Up) and added in some  icy blue glittery papers  (My Mind's Eye).  For just a touch of interest and texture, I used a corner punch on the two right hand corners.  Of course, this lovely lady needed some bling--blue rhinestones.

On the inside I stamped a wintry themed sentiment.  This card will be sent out to a friend to brighten her day.
She lives in Arizona, so I think she will like the chilly colors.  LOL.

Oh!  I think my Lovely Flapper would like to be entered into the following challenges:
365 Cards: rounding the corner
Little Red Wagon: bling
Craft Door Magazine: anything goes
Craft Our Passion: vintage/shabby chic
Cupcake Craft: January Blues
Vintage Stamping: vintage
Creative Moments: Monochromatic
Cute Card Thursday: beat the blues

Don't forget to pop over and join in with The Stampsmith January Challenge--The theme is to use a recycled item and at least one Stampsmith stamp.
So, let's see, what will I have for you tomorrow??  Oh, I know, I will share some of the kids cards I made to send to Operation Write Home.  I have to take the rest of the photos and I will have those for you tomorrow.  Hope to see you then.  Have a super Thursday!!  Love ya.

WOYWW 188 - Making Card For Kids

Hi Everyone!
Here I am back with What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday!  I took a little break over the holidays and missed peeking into all the creative spaces.  Check out Julia's Blog Stamping Ground for all the details.  And, link up for a journey around the world having a look at all the busy work spaces!  On my desk are some of the cards I have been making for Operation Write Home.  The cards were all designed to appeal to Children.   I will take better photos later  and post them to my blog.  I decided that January will be a month when I make cards for card drives.  I started this morning on Valentine's cards that will be sent to hospitalized children.  I will share those as well when I get them made.  Here's my desk:

There are some My Favorite Things, Stampavie, Crafter's Companion, and Sweet N Sassy stamps.  And, lots of papers.  I am putting a little ribbon on the bunny card.   Below are a few more of the cards I made for Operation Write Home.  Stamps: My Favorite Things, ducks-Prairie Fairy digi, bird is a Sizzix die cut.

And, this last photo is a picture of a cutter I bought.  (One of my Christmas gifts from my husband--I picked it out and bought it.  LOL)  It works pretty good and the cuts are very accurate.

Hope you have enjoyed taking a peek at my work space.  Tomorrow I will be posting a card made with Stampsmith stamps.  Something to warm you up on a cold winter's day.  See you then.  Happy WOYWWing!!  Love ya.
