Shabby Chic Butterfly with Blockheads Stamps

Hi Dreamers!
Spent a lot of the weekend working on the yard and garden.  I had three flats of annuals and potted them in pots.  We are having unseasonably hot weather --90 degrees F!!!  So, it was too hot to work outside yesterday.  Instead, I made this Shabby Chic Butterfly card with stamps from Blockheads.
----My studio re-do is completed!  I will share photos of that later.  I still have to fine tune things after working in there yesterday.  I really need to move my inks. Have to come up with a way to have my inks on the desk.----
Here is the butterfly.

Materials List:
Stamps: Painted Butterflies and Feeling Regal both from Blockheads Stamps
Ink: Toffee Crunch Memento
Cardstock: cream, kraft, and med brown
Metal Stickers-Nail Heads/Silver
Cream Twill and lace

Instructions:

  • On the cream CS, stamp the Large Damask (from Feeling Regal set) with Toffee Crunch ink--stamping off once first.
  • Stamp the Butterfly with Toffee Crunch.
  • Rough up the edges of the CS and distress with Toffee Crunch

  • Add lace, twill, and Nail Head stickers

Inside

  • Stamp the Large Damask image again and repeat roughing up and ink distressing for the inside

I will add a sentiment later when I send the card.  I could add any sentiment to this multi purpose card: birthday, thinking of you, hello, etc.....  I love the monochromatic softness of this color scheme.  The Blockhead's Design Team is really working the Shabby Chic Theme this month on the Design Blog here.  Check out all the good stuff!

I will be back later today or tomorrow with the photos of my room.  Stay creative!  LOL  See you then.  Love ya.

Winter Wishes with The Stampsmith

Hi Dreamers!
I would like to say an extra special "Hello" to new followers.  Welcome aboard!  We have fun here in dreamland.  LOL.  Today, let's warm up some icy blue papers with warm winter wishes!  I have made this winter all occasion card with an image from the Flappers #1 Full Sheet by The Stampsmith.

One of the great things about Stampsmith Stamps, is that they make such a great focal point.  All you have to do is layer some paper and presto---a fab card!  I stamped this lovely Flapper with black dye ink on glossy white CS.

I layered the image with black and Not Quite Navy CS (Stampin' Up) and added in some  icy blue glittery papers  (My Mind's Eye).  For just a touch of interest and texture, I used a corner punch on the two right hand corners.  Of course, this lovely lady needed some bling--blue rhinestones.

On the inside I stamped a wintry themed sentiment.  This card will be sent out to a friend to brighten her day.
She lives in Arizona, so I think she will like the chilly colors.  LOL.

Oh!  I think my Lovely Flapper would like to be entered into the following challenges:
365 Cards: rounding the corner
Little Red Wagon: bling
Craft Door Magazine: anything goes
Craft Our Passion: vintage/shabby chic
Cupcake Craft: January Blues
Vintage Stamping: vintage
Creative Moments: Monochromatic
Cute Card Thursday: beat the blues

Don't forget to pop over and join in with The Stampsmith January Challenge--The theme is to use a recycled item and at least one Stampsmith stamp.
So, let's see, what will I have for you tomorrow??  Oh, I know, I will share some of the kids cards I made to send to Operation Write Home.  I have to take the rest of the photos and I will have those for you tomorrow.  Hope to see you then.  Have a super Thursday!!  Love ya.

Gold Christmas Angel

Hi Dreamers!
Welcome to Dreamland!  And, look at this dreamy Christmas card.  I choose  shades of yellowy creams--from soft yellow to goldy yellow for a monochromatic look.  This card was made  for the Flourishes Be Progressive Challenge. I thought the challenge seemed like a really fun idea.  Each day another element was added.

  1. Sketch
  2. Monochromatic
  3. Decorative Papers
  4. Bling
Here is my take on the Challenge:

The stamp is Alleluia Angel from Flourishes.  The Music DP is from Websters Pages, the floral from Anna Griffin.  I distressed the second layer of the scallop circle and the dry embossed floral DP with Frayed Burlap Distress ink.

Added some bling with Gold Stickles and a big gold bow.

I am going to make several more of this design to add to my Christmas card basket.   I may down size them to make them easier to mail.  I will be back tomorrow with a Thanksgiving Card.  See you then.  Love ya.
