CAS Butterfly with Blockhead Stamps

Hi Dreamers!
Happy Saturday.  Saturday is always a reason to celebrate!  LOL  I am taking some time today to blog a bit, already made a retirement card for a friend, and I am going to try to make a few cards for kids later on in the day.  More on those later.  This month The Blockheads Design Team is focusing on Butterflies.  And, on this lovely Saturday, I want to share a monochromatic CAS butterfly card.

Materials List:
Blockhead Stamps: Whimsical-Take Flight -Swirl and Butterfly
Stencil Stamps Set (there are 3 of this set left and will then be retired)
Verses-Special Delivery
Inks: Potter's Clay and Cantaloupe from Memento
Cardstock: White and Clay

Instructions:

  • On White CS stamp the large shadow stamp with Cantaloupe ink.
  • Stamp the swirl  with Cantaloupe ink
  • Stamp the Sentiment and Butterfly with Potter's Clay
  • Add to card base made from Clay colored CS

Inside

  • Stamp the swirl on the inside and leave lots of room for a hand written note.

How about a few fun Challenges:
Charisma Cards: monochromatic
ATC's and cards with Attitude: Anything goes
Allsorts: CAS
Sweet Stampin challenge: white + one color
365 Cards: new beginnings -  I always think of a butterfly as a metaphor for new beginnings

Okay, I am going to get a cup of coffee and take a little break.  And, then!  Oh, I will think of something fun to do.  Hopefully work on those kid's cards.    Have a super weekend!!  Love ya.

Shadow Stamped Butterfly

Hi Dreamers!
Back again today!  During the month of January the Blockheads Design Team will be showcasing projects with a butterfly theme.  Fortunately, I love butterflies.  And, I have been having fun with some of my new butterfly stamps from Blockheads Stamps and will have lots of projects to share with you this month.  Today, I have a card that incorporates shadow stamping.  Take a look.

Materials List:
Stamps: All from Blockheads-
Stencil Stamps
Whimsical-Take Flight
Verses-Special Delivery
Inks:
Crushed Olive and Forest Moss Distress Inks
CS: White and pale green

Instructions:

  • On white CS, Stamp the large shadow stamp with Crushed Olive ink
  • Stamp the Script stamp (Whimsical-Take Flight) with Crushed Olive
  • Stamp the Butterfly with Forest Moss ink
  • Make a card base from pale green CS

Inside

  • Repeat for inside omitting the script and stamping off once for the shadow stamp and butterfly
  • Stamp sentiment with Forest Moss ink
I made the  stamping on the inside lighter so that I could write over it with a regular pen.

And, how about a few super fun challenges for my Butterfly in Green Card!!??
Tuesday Taggers: new stash--used two new stamp sets
Paper Take Weekly: anything goes
Craftdoor Magazine: anything goes #51
Flutterby Wednesday: use a butterfly
Loves Rubber stamps: anything goes

I hope everyone had a lovely Holiday!!  I am glad to be back in the swing of things and not making Christmas cards!!  LOL.   No, seriously, I do love making C cards but, I am happy to be making other things now.  Have a great New Years day!!!  Love ya.
