Quilts to Snuggle With

 Hello Everyone,

Changing things up a bit today.  No cards today. But I do have some pictures of three quilts I made recently.  I made them for granddaughters of BFs.

Bunny Quilt:

I hand drew the bunny head.  Cut the bunnies from pink and lavender cottons.  They were hand appliqued onto a patchwork background made up of six-inch squares.

Bunny Quilt for a doll bed. This was made with leftovers from the larger quilt.

Churn Dash Quilt: Made with a collection of peach cotton fabrics.

The detail picture below is a better representation of the color.

Sawtooth Star: Made with a collection of bright colors and blue borders.

I have already given the bunny quilts to the recipient.  I have not given the other two yet because I have one more quilt to complete before giving them. I am in the process of hand quilting the remaining quilt. It is a log cabin design.  I will share pictures when it is complete.  See you next time with my usual card programming.

Birdhouse Themed Quilt

 Hello Everyone!

Changing things up a bit today with a Spring themed quilt!   I made this quilt for one of my besties.  I gave it to her for her Birthday.

The pattern is from an Annie's quilt book called "Quilting for the Home".  I changed the size for my project.
The pieces were hand appliqued and the quilt was hand quilted.  This is wall hanging piece and is about 18 inches x 24 inches.

I made some yo-yos from fabric to simulate flowers on the branches.

Hope you enjoyed a bit of quilting.  I will be back next time with my Spring birds.

Hope you are having a great day.

Pinwheel Delight

 Hello Everyone,

Today, I am varying the project type.  I have been doing a bit of quilting and wanted to share this Pinwheel quilt I made for a new baby. The size is 40" x 48".

I used 100% cotton fabrics.  The pinwheels were pieced and than machine appliqued to the white background.

I hand quilted the quilt and used a bias binding.  I forgot how much I enjoyed making quilts.  This also gives me the chance to clear out my fabric stash.  LOL

Hope you have enjoyed checking out this quilting project.  I think I will post my quilting activity once a month.  See you next time with more card making projects.

Merry Christmas To Owl

Hello Everyone,

Little different project today.   This is a small wall hanging quilted project.  I made two of these.  One for myself and one for my buddy, Jan.  She has already received hers, so this post will not spoil the surprise.  LOL  The quilt pattern was from a pattern book I purchased at Annie's Craft Store on line.  I used heat and bond to apply the appliques and machine stitched around the appliques.  I did a little bit of machine quilting.

I used Christmas prints in 100% cotton.  I used a recycled light weight sweater for the tree.

So glad you stopped by today.  I will be back next time with Christmas cards.  I made over 50 cards.  I did get the photos edited yesterday.  Now I have to get them addressed and mailed.  Still lots to do.  Did my Christmas gift shopping on line today.  See you soon.

Patchwork Blankets

Hello Everyone!
A bit of change up today!  I wanted to share the photos of three patchwork blankets I made using Polar Fleece scraps.  I did quite a bit of sewing this winter making warm and cozy jackets out of the fleece.  I had all these pieces left over ---I certainly could not waste those!!  Here are the results.

This is the smallest of the blankets - about 36 inches square.

This blanket is about 40" x 60" and I used all the blue pieces I had.

This blanket is 60" x 70" and uses grays, blacks, and blues.

The blankets have Polar Fleece backing too.  So they are double thick and plenty warm!  Because the fabric is knit and stretches, the piecing was very forgiving and I did not worry over much about accuracy.  Actually, I really enjoyed the process.  I haven't done much quilting/piecework in a while and I feel inspired to make a few more things.
I will be back next time with more cards!!  Hope your day is super!!

Fall Quilt and Craft Show Card

Hi Dreamers!
Felling the Fall vibe yet?  The leaves are starting to change here in Michigan and have put me in the mood  to make Fall themed cards.  My project today is made with a Stampsmith Stamp Set called Country Landscape full sheet.  The quilt themed stamps on this set really made me think---Fall Quilt and craft show.  I made this card thinking that it was a poster to advertise a show in the country in Autumn.  Think rustling leaves, crisp air, and changing leaves.  Are you feeling it??!!  Here is the card.

I stamped the images with Sienna Archival ink on glossy white CS. Then cut them into squares and rectangles; and glued to a base.
I cut narrow ( 1/8") from decorative paper and used them to created a patchwork like border around the stamped images.  I let some of the borders hang off the edge of the base.

On the inside, I stamped a nice fall themed sentiment from Sweet N' Sassy stamps.  I will send this card out to a friend just to say Hi!

Just a reminder that The Stampsmith Grateful Challenge is still open and you have plenty of time to enter.  You could take home a $21 gift certificate to The Stampsmith store.
Hope you are having a lovely fall day!  Love ya.
