Pretty Decorative Papers Take the Limelight

Hi Dreamers,
Back today with two more cards that feature pretty decorative papers.  I also added some snow globe dimensional stickers that coordinate with the paper.  You know how you are walking down the aisle of the craft store....and find all the interesting coordinating stickers, chipboard cut outs, etc.  Well, I just can't resist some of them !!   I always seem to pick up a couple packages!   I wanted to use some of those as they have a striking visual impact.  But, you can't just stick them on a card.    I always have to design a card around them.  So, I designed today's  cards around the snow globe stickers to make these uplifting cards.

All the Decorative papers and the snow globes are from K & Company.

The first card also has an inspirational sentiment from The Stamping Place and a Bashful Blue  (Stampin' Up)  card base

I added a pale blue satin ribbon and pearls (A Muse Studios)

The second card has a card base made from Sage Shadow CS (Stampin' Up retired color).

I added a pale green satin ribbon  and pearls ( both from A Muse Studios)

A few fun Challenges for my Winged Cards:
Penny's Paper-Crafty: anything goes
Word Art Wednesday: anything with an uplifting sentiment
Anything Goes Challenge: In the garden with butterflies
Creative Card Crew: wings
Bunny Zoe's Crafts: blue

I am still working on the card order.  I have 40 cards made now.  I am going to make a couple more and that should do it.  That will keep my customer happy for a while sending out happy mail!  I will photograph a few more of the cards from the order to share with you next time.  So, see you then!  Love ya.

Make Your Decorative Paper the Focal Point

Hi Dreamers,
I had a nice weekend celebrating my birthday.   We went out for dinner on Saturday.  And my brother and his girlfriend treated my to lunch on Sunday.  Very fun!  I am back today with a few cards that showcase decorative paper.  I have lots of beautiful papers that I sometimes neglect.   I decided to make the papers the focal point.  I made seven cards total and will share the nautical/ beach themed cards today.  (I am saving the other two for another post.)    The cards have a  masculine  feel, but could be used for the ladies as well.

The papers are all from K & Company.  I also used some of K & Company's Dimensional Stickers that coordinate with their papers.  I left some blank on the inside and added a sentiment to some.  Just a nice group of general cards.

This palm tree card is a retirement card

I did stamp a sentiment on this last card.

******Challenges for my Decorative paper cards:
Loves Rubber Stamps: a sentiment on the front--the last card with the ship
613 Avenue: anything goes
Unstampa belles: old stash---I used some pre-cut cards with matching envelopes that I have had for a year
Craft-Room: trees or leaves--the palm tree card
Through the craftroom door: anything goes

Well, that's it for today.  I will back soon with two more cards that feature Decorative paper.    See you then!!  Love ya.

No Stamping - Just Pretty Papers

Hi Everyone!
How is your weekend going?  Good here.  Got a bit of gardening in this afternoon.  I stayed in the shade  to stay a bit cooler.  LOL.  I was able to find time to make a  few cards this morning too.  During the week, I made a card without any stamping at all!  The main focus is the Decorative Papers.  Take a look.

Materials:
Lost and Found -Blush 6x6 Paper Pad from My Mind's Eye
CS: Rich Razzleberry and Very Vanilla from Stampin' Up
Ribbon: Sheer Magenta from Michaels Craft Store
Die Cut-Top Notch from Stampin' Up

Instructions:

  • Make a 5.5 x 6.25" folded card from Very Vanilla CS
  • To the card base, add narrow strips of Rich Razzleberry between two different DP's
  • Cut a piece of Decorative Paper with the birdcage and a piece of Rich Razzleberry with the Die Cut
  • Layer the die cut pieces letting the Rich Razzleberry extend past the edge of the DP die cut

  • Wrap a sheer Magenta ribbon around die cut piece and tie in a bow
  • Add to card front with dimensional adhesive

Inside

  • Add more of the paper on the inside.
I can use this card for any occasion.  I will simply stamp the sentiment when I go to send the card.  I think I will save this on for a special  birthday card.

Let's play a few challenges!

Lisa Somerville Bloggers: things with wings
Charisma Cardz: girlie
Crafting by design: anything goes
Rhedd and Rosie: anything goes
Anything goes Challenge: anything goes
Incy Wincy: things with wings
Created with Love: anything goes
Polka doodles: things that fly

So, that about it for today.  I should probably start thinking about making some dinner.  Something cold.  A big salad, I think.  I hope you have a great weekend!!  Love ya.
