Sweet Chocolate Shop

Happy Friday,
Today I have a Design Team card for the Stampsmith Design Blog. I used an image of a Chocolate Shop from the Paris Full Sheet available in the Stampsmith Shop. This card went together fairly quickly, so it is a good layout if you have to make multiples.

The image was stamped with Tuxedo Black ink (Memento) on glossy white CS. The image was colored with Watercolor Pencils (Stampin' Up). I used a wet brush and picked up color right off the pencil. The edges are torn and distressed with Fired Brick ink (Ranger). I mounted it on a torn piece of textured white CS (DCWV), no distressing on this piece.... I wanted the bright white to show. I scored a few lines on another piece of Textured White CS and distressed with Fired Brick ink and tore one end. Wrap a narrow ribbon around this piece and layer with Poppy Parade CS (Stampin' Up). The card base is made from Bright white CS (Staples). And, that's it. Fairly quick and easy.

Lots of beautiful sun shine here today. I put Fall cards in my neighbors' mailboxes this morning. They will have some "good" mail today. I feel like the Happy Card Fairy. LOL.
PS: There is still plenty of time to enter the "All Dressed Up" Challenge over at the Stampsmith Challenge Blog! This challenge is open until 10/14.
Have a groovy day!

  1. Karen, you have created a really sweet card. I have that set of stamps (such a favourite) and it is good to see this particular stamp being used. TFS. Lynne x

  2. Karen,

I responded to your comment on the IO blog but realized that I should respond on your blog! Thank you so much for the compliment! I was literally jumping up and down with excitement. I have never won a challenge before. I have not figured out which stamps to pick yet, my list is far too long...

I wanted to comment on this post to tell you that this card that you created is beautiful! I love the stamp, but what makes it so great is what you did with it. The coloring is really nice, I love the torn edges, and the fact that you layered the white underneath. I really like your vintage style cards! And, it was neat to see how you played with the IO stamp for fall!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
