Vintage Bird Note Card Set

Hello Dreamers!

Special Announcement!!!
Lost Coast Designs is now hosting Challenges!!!!   The theme of the first Challenge is LOVE.  Check out all the details here

A super busy week this week!  The bridal shower is this Sunday.  I still have lots to do, but I thought I would post a pretty vintage card set.  I used stamps from Lost Coast Designs and some backgrounds made with a stencil.

Materials List:
Ink: black Archival
CS: Cream; Yellow textured and various browns from Bazzill
Spray inks in browns and yellows
Stencil: Mini Damask from Crafters Workshop
Laces and pearls

Card #1

Card #2

Detail Card #2

Instructions:

  • Make four cards from the yellow textured CS
  • My backgrounds were made by laying a stencil over CS and spraying with inks...and then flipping the stencil over onto another sheet of CS and adding more spray ink.
Note: more instructions on this background technique here

  • Cute the background sheet into smaller pieces
  • Stamp the birds with black Archival ink onto the backgrounds

Card #3

Detail #3

  • Layer the background pieces with brown CS and add to the card base
  • Add various pieces of lace
  • Add the pearls

Card #4

Detail #4

  • Add a stamped bird to the inside of each card

The cards can be used for any occasion.  I can always stamp an additional sentiment on the inside too.  Or, I can put the cards in a pretty wrapper and give as a little gift.

***************Challenges for my Vintage Bird Note Card Set:
Craft-Room: things with wings
Crafting form the Heart: anything goes

Well, I better run.  I have lots to do for the bridal shower---wrap the gifts, wash all the serving bowls, bake two cakes (making 80 cake pops tomorrow).  Yikes!!  I better get moving!!  Hope you have a great day!!  Love ya.

I stamped with black dye ink and added some color with Markers.

I added some Decorative paper from Authentique.   The lovely satin ribbons are all from A Muse Studios.

I layered onto a pale blue and dark teal CS both from A Muse Studios.

How about a few fun challenges!

Mini Note Card Set with Blockheads Stamps

Hi Dreamers,
As promised, I am changing things up a bit today with a non-Christmas project.  But, you could make a few sets of  mini cards to give as  gifts.....Or to use as gift tags.    I used stamps from Blockhead Paper Arts to make my mini note cards and choose  feminine images and colors.

Materials List:
Stamps: Vintage Travel Set
Inks: Watermelon and Shell Pink Adirondack - Ranger
Cardstock: white, cream, and pale pink

The cards are quite small -- approximately 2 1/2 " square,  and 2 1/2 x 3 1/2" -- and go together very quickly.  I made card bases with the CS and stamped with the Watermelon ink.  I did some shadow stamping on some of the cards with the Shell Pink ink.

2 1/2 " square

2 3/4" square

These would also be nice as gift tags.  Punch a hole in the upper left
corner and thread a ribbon through.

A few fun Challenges for my Mini Note cards

Pretty Pink Posh 10 minute challenge: add red
Moving along with the times: CAS
Crafty Bloggers Network: anything goes

I will be back on Wednesday with a pretty wedding card.
See you then!!  Love ya.

CAS Retro Note Card Set Part Two

Hi Dreamers!
Here I am back today as promised with part two of my CAS Retro Note Card set!  The cards were made for the November Blockheads Challenge.  Which is still open...so make  a CAS card and link it up!  Check out  all  the details on my post here.   Here is a second look at  the group photo.

Materials List:
Blockhead stamps:
Retro Shapes
 Verses - Retro
Ink: Stream Adirondack Ranger
White and Teal Cardstock

Note: Allowing for the finickiness of my camera and its reaction to light...all the cards are made with White CS and Stream ink.

Wouldn't these be great for your Cocktail party invites!??!!  And, since they are CAS, they would go together very quickly.

Super fun images!!  And, I love how great they look stamped in Stream ink and with the teal CS---very fifties.  Love this set for CAS cards.   It is the ginchiest!!

So, let me check my schedule and see what will be posted tomorrow.  Yes, I had to make a schedule.  I had a lot of things made and I thought it would just be easier to write it all down.  The schedule is working great. Oh, looking at the schedule, I will be back later with a Stampsmith Christmas card.  And, for tomorrow,  Character Construction Christmas cards!!  That does sound good!  See you then!  Love ya.

Blockheads November Challenge--Clean and Simple

Hi Dreamers!
Time for a new challenge on the Blockheads Design Blog!!
The new Challenge is:

CLEAN AND SIMPLE

Link  up on the Blockheads blog for a chance to win and $25 gift certificate  to the Blockheads Store.  You may also participate on Facebook.  One Facebook winner will win a 4 x 5 1/4 Blockheads Stamp set of their choice.

I have made a set of CAS note cards using the Coffee/Tea full sheet.   All Cards are 4 1/4 x 5 1/2".

Materials List:
Stamps: Coffee/Tea full sheet
Ink: Onyx Black Versa Fine
Cardstock: Gray and Black
Circle Die Cut

Instructions: Stamp the images on gray cardstock with Onyx Black ink.  Layer onto black cardstock.  Make all the cards in this manner.

I added two die cut circles on this card.

This will be a great gift set.  I will just package them with envelopes and put them in some kind of pretty container.  Like a gift bag, basket, or box.   I hope you will try out this minimalist Technique.  I find that making CAS cards clears my head.   Stayed tuned all month for more on my CAS cards.  I went crazy stamping....as usual.  LOL.

Had a fun Halloween here.  Lots of cute kids.  I left my husband to man the door and ran next door for a cup of hot spiced wine with my buddy, Reem.  Very fun!!
Hope you are having a great day!!  Love ya.
