Tall Trees on the Bike Trail

Hello Dreamers,
How is your day going?  Well, I hope.  Doing good here.  Did my grocery shopping already this morning.  So, that means I get to goof off for a bit.  Yea!  LOL  Today, let's take a bike ride with a project made with stamps from Lost Coast Designs.

Materials List:

Stamps: Tall Trees Background and Bike Border from Lost Coast Designs

Ink: Mushroom Adirondack,Versa Fine Black

Distress Ink: Faded Jeans and Forest Moss

CS: Black; Not Quite Navy - Stampin' Up

Sheet Music Paper (or sheet music stamp would work too)

Metal disk embellishments

Ribbon Slide -Stampin' Up

Tweed Ribbon

Instructions:

• Make a card from Not Quite Navy CS and add a layer of black CS
• Stamp the Tall Trees stamp onto the sheet music with Mushroom ink
• Stamp one of the Bikes from the Bike Border with Black ink
• Distress with the Distress inks

• Add the stamped piece to the card base
• Add the silver metal embellishment
• Wrap the tweed ribbon around the card
• Slide the ends of the ribbon through the ribbon slide and tie in a knot

I was using the paper with sheet music as a scrap to test the Tall Trees stamp...My husband is a musician and prints lots of sheet music.  And, when it does not print correctly, he hands it to me and says, "Can you use this?".  Of course I can.  Anyway, I liked the way the trees looked on the sheet music and just went with it.  And, that is my design process for this card...in case you were wondering.

CAS Vintage Ladies

Hello Dreamers!
I am back today with the last three of my Vintage lady cards. I went more CAS with today's cards and did not do any distressing!  See my other Vintage Ladies here and here.  I made the cards in three colors ways for the Vintage Stamping Challenge sponsored by Flonzcraft Stamps.  There is still time to make a project using something "new".   See all the details on the Vintage Stamping Challenge Blog

Materials List:

Stamps: Flowers Engraving and Vintage Fashion Girl - Twenties 2 both from Flonzcraft Stamps
Sentiment Stamps: Stampin' Up

Ink: Black and Vintage Sepia Versa Fine; Cameo Coral, Baja Breeze,  and Wisteria Wonder from  Stampin' Up

CS: White; Cameo Coral, Baja Breeze, and Wisteria Wonder from  Stampin' Up

Yarns
Pearls

Instructions:

• Make three cards from cardstock that coordinates with the ink color
• Stamp the flower and sentiment on white CS with a lighter pastel colored ink
• Stamp the ladies with Black or Vintage Sepia inks
• Add the stamped piece to the card base

• Add Pearls
• Tie yarn around card

Throwback Thursday for January

Hello Everyone!
Hope everyone is doing well!  I have been busy taking care of household things, but today I am back with a fun post.  I am participating in Bibiana's Throwback Thursday!  See all the details on Stamping with Bibiana.  You can link up through Feb 12.
I selected a card made for Valentine's Day made with Stampsmith Stamps.

I did take some new photos of the card.  You can check out  the original post from January 2011.  Love these fun Lucy stamps!

I stamped on white glossy paper and added distress inks.  I Hand Cut the hearts--oh my!  I hand cut and did not use a die.  Well, this was made in 2011.  LOL.  I added some glitter glue around the edge of the heart.  

What a blast from the past!   I still have this card in my design team projects box.  Maybe I should send it to someone!

Vintage Ladies with Floral Background

Hello Everyone!
Been kind of a not so good week.  My husband was home sick.  He tried going in today.  He still does not feel good though.  And, we have a busy weekend ahead too.  The Dearborn Big Band is playing at the Michael Guido Performing Arts Center on Sunday ( Don is the director and trumpet player).  So, a big day for the band.
Saturday, I am going to a fund raiser/card making day with my buddy, Sharon.  Should be fun!  Looking forward to getting out and making a few cards for fun after the hustle and bustle of the holidays.

I thought I would post two cards today.  The cards are a variation on my Vintage Stamping Challenge project I posted two weeks ago here. The challenge runs all month and the details can be found here.  The theme is "New Year - New Stash"


Here is Card one:

Materials List:

Stamps: Flowers Engraving and Vintage Fashion Girl - Twenties 2 both from Flonzcraft Stamps; speckles background stamp

Ink: Rich Cocoa, Toffee Crunch -Memento;  Creamy Caramel from  Stampin' Up

CS: Cream; Tobacco Brown; Black; Mustard yellow

Watercolor Crayons - Stampin' Up

Distressing tool

Ribbons

Heat gun

Spray bottle 

 Instructions:

• Make a card from tobacco brown mustard yellow CS
• Add a torn layer of black to the tobacco brown card
• On Cream CS, stamp the Flowers Engraving with Toffee Crunch and another with Creamy Caramel ink
• Stamp the Fashion Girls with Rich Cocoa ink
• Stamp speckles on the background with Creamy Caramel for card two

• Tear the edges of one stamped piece and distress the edges of the second stamped piece with distressing tool 
• Color the edges with the watercolor crayon
• Distress edges again
• Spray the watercolor crayon lightly with water and dry with heat gun ( I rubbed the crayon coloring with my finger to soften the edges before drying)
• Add to the card base

• Add ribbons to each card

The cards are going in my to send box.  They will be perfect for any occasion.  I will add sentiments when I use them.

Vintage Hardware with Lost Coast Designs

Hello Everyone!
We are experiencing super cold weather here in good old Michigan.  The temp is up to 13 degrees F.  Brrr.  And, there is snow to shovel.  I think I will share some vintage cards with you instead of shoveling the snow.   I will get to the snow later.  Today's projects were made with stamps from Lost Coast Designs.  ----My husband is doing the snow shoveling!  Yea!

Card One

Materials List:

Stamps: Woodgrain Background and Hardware Set

Inks: Mossy, Pewter, and Patina Mixed Media; Faded Jeans Distress; Black

CS: White; Pacific Point - Stampin' Up

Piercing Tool

Glue Pad

Gold Leaf Foil

Instructions:

• Make a card from Pacific Point CS
• On White CS, stamp the Woodgrain background stamp with Mossy ink
• Stamp the hardware elements with three Mixed Media inks and Black die ink
• Distress with Faded Jeans

• Pierce edges of the stamped piece
• Add to the card base
• Use a glue pad to apply glue to the edges
• Press the gold leaf foil into the glue and brush away the excess

Card Two

Materials List:

Stamps: Woodgrain Background and Hardware Set

Inks: Toffee Crunch, Black, Olive Grove, Rich Cocoa Memento inks

CS: White; Brown; and Green

Versa Mark pad

Clear Embossing Powder

Metallic Rubs

Heat Gun

Instructions:

• Make a card from Green CS and layer with Brown
• On White CS, stamp the Woodgrain Background with Toffee Crunch ink
• Stamp the hardware with the Memento inks listed

• Apply the Versa Mark ink to the entire surface
• Add the Clear Embossing Powder and heat set
• Add to card base
• Apply the metallic rubs to the edges

Love that glossy look from the heat embossing.  I would use these cards for a masculine birthday.  Or just to send to someone special.

Lost Coast Designs January Challenge--Tags

Hello Dreamers!
Time for a new monthly Lost Coast Design challenge!!  This month the theme is:

TAGS

Make a tag using a Lost Coast Design Stamp and link up on the Lost Coasters Review Design blog.  

Here is a little inspiration.  I made a tag using the Hardware Set from Lost Coast Designs.

Materials:

Stamps: Hardware Set from Lost Coast Designs

CS: White, Aqua, Brown

Ink: Stream, Lake Mist, and Mushroom Adirondack; Versa Mark

Distress Ink: Faded Jeans

Clear Embossing Powder

Brown Brads

Hole punch

Instructions:

• Make tag from Aqua CS and layer with brown CS
• On white CS, stamp the hardware pieces with Adirondack inks
• Distress edges and background with distress ink
• Cover the entire surface of the stamped piece with Versa Mark ink
• Sprinkle on clear embossing powder
• Heat powder with heat gun
• When cooled add to the tag base and punch hole in top
• Add ribbons and tulle in the tag hole
• Add brads

I love this hardware set!  It is so vintagey and chunky!  Can you use chunky to describe a stamp??!!  Sure, I think so!  I made a whole series of projects using this stamp set.  I will have more of them this month.  So, stayed tuned for that!

Vintage Stamping Challenge - January!

Hello Everyone!
I hope you had a great holiday season!  And, I wish you a new year filled with joy!!
I had a little time off from making cards over the holidays and just made one or two for immediate needs.  So, I feel refreshed and ready to start creating again. Good thing too,as it is time for a new challenge on the Vintage Stamping Challenge Blog.

The theme of this month's challenge is:

New Year; New Stash

Make a project using your new stash and link up on the challenge blog. (Doesn't have to be vintage.)

The challenge is sponsored by Flonzcraft Stamps----They are offering a $20 gift certificate for one lucky winner.

I used some new stamps from Flonzcraft to create my design team project.

Materials List:

Stamps: Flowers Engraving and Vintage Fashion Girl - Twenties 2 both from Flonzcraft Stamps; scroll stamp

Ink: Vintage Sepia Versa Fine; Cameo Coral and Creamy Caramel from  Stampin' Up

CS: Cream; Dark  Brown; and Electric Red from My Favorite Things

Watercolor Crayons - Stampin' Up

Distressing tool

Eye Lash Yarn

Lace

Pink Pearls

Dimensional adhesive

Heat gun

Spray bottle 

Instructions:

• Make a card from dark brown CS and layer with Electric Red CS
• On Cream CS, stamp the Flowers Engraving with Cameo Coral  and Fashion Girls with Vintage Sepia ink
• lightly stamp a little scroll stamp with Creamy Coral in upper corner

• Distress the edges of the stamped piece with distressing tool and color the edges with the watercolor crayon
• Distress edges again
• Spray the watercolor crayon lightly with water and dry with heat gun ( I rubbed the crayon coloring with my finger to soften the edges before drying)
• Add to card front with dimensional adhesive
• Add a piece of lace to left edge and wrap eyelash yarn around card over lace
• Add pearls to corners

I had fun with this layout and made six versions....  LOL   You know how I get carried away when I start to stamp!   I will share the other versions with you this month.
