Dare Devil Steampunk Card

Hi Dreamers!
Over the last few days, I decided I needed to make some cards just for fun.  I ran around blog land and found some challenges that sounded interesting and checked out a couple new challenge blogs.  I wrote up my list of elements for the challenges and away I went.    I wanted to make a Birthday Card for my Nephew and he likes Steampunk stuff.  This is his birthday card.

Stamps: Aviator-American Arts Stamps; Leather Goggles- Judi-Kins; Script, zeppelin, and sentiment-Artistic Outpost- French Flight.

The background was made by adding  ink (I used spray inks and reinkers) on a Craft sheet (add some water)  and smearing watercolor paper around in the ink.  The diamond strip is a scrap from one of my Crafters Workshop Template backgrounds.   The template (Mini Harlequin)  is laid on the CS and sprayed with Stream Adirondack spray ink.  I stamped the Aviator with Vintage Sepia Versafine  The other stamps were stamped with black dye ink.  I added some Frayed Burlap and Vintage Photo Distress inks.

I added some coiled wire and black ribbon for embellishments.  I stamped the number 17 because this is my Nephew's seventeenth birthday.

I stamped a couple more zeppelins on the inside and a vertical  Happy Birthday.

Challenges for Dare Devil Steampunk Card:
Artistic Outpost: Anything goes with an Artistic Outpost stamp
Simon Says stamp and Show: sprays, stencil, and spritz
The Artistic Stampers: circles = coils on the wire
Cheerful Stamp pad: Numbers
Paper Play: Happy Birthday

I will be back later with more challenge cards.  I have some fun snowman cards for all the Christmas in July challenges.  Have a great evening.  Love ya.

  1. Hi Karen. Your birthday card for your nephew is amazing! I totally love the background and what looks like a masked harlequin pattern on the one side. And your blended colors on the other side of the card are beautiful as well. I love all of your stamping. Great images! I also love the wire coil that give such cool dimension to your card. It's beautifully done! Thanks for sharing your art with us at Simon Says Stamp and Show. <3 Candy
