Decorative Comb for the Reception

Hi Dreamers,
No card today!  I was occupied making this decorated comb for my future niece to wear at the reception.  The wedding is Saturday.   The colors are Red and Purple.   Take a look.

I started by making  a sleeve from  white satin fabric.  The sleeve slips over the top of the comb.  I gathered a price of lace fabric and shaped it into a fan.  Then stitched it down.  I added the large pearl button.....yes that is a button.  Then glued a string of red pearls.  I added individual pearls too.  Then wrapped a piece of purple tulle around the bottom.

Well, I hope the bride likes it....

A few fun Challenges:
Oldie but a goodie: anything but a card and use something from stash.  I used the lace fabric that I have had in my stash for awhile....
Tip Top Tuesday: use something from your stash....the lace fabric

Dragonfly Border Stamp with Washi Tape---Lost Coast Designs

Hi Dreamers!
Happy Friday!   I hope you have some fun stuff planned for the weekend.  I just received a card order from my friend and neighbor for thirteen cards!  Yipee! I know what I will be doing this weekend!  I mowed the grass today.  And pulled all the weeds out of the pavement cracks.  How the heck do they grow there!!!  If I wanted something to grow there, it surely  wouldn't.  Oh well, that is done.  I still have to water all my neighbors plants in the morning.  And, I have to water mine too.

And, now on to the card for today.  As you know, I have been making a few cards with Lost Coast Designs Border stamps and washi tape.  This is the third and final card in the series.  ***See the other cards in the series here and here.

Special Note: Lost Coast Designs' new challenge is now open.  The current theme is Words and/or Letters.

Click over and check it out.....there are prizes...... I will be posting my card with Words later in the month.

For today's fun yet elegant card, I used a silver and gray color scheme.  Love how those dragonflies dance across the card!

Materials List:
Stamp: Dragonfly Border from Lost Coast Designs
Ink: Gray Flannel- Memento
CS: White and gray
Washi Tape- American Crafts

Instructions:

  • Make an A2 sized card from dark gray CS
  • On a piece of white CS, stamp the Dragonfly border with Gray Flannel ink at the top and bottom
  • Add three rows of Washi tape

  • Add the stamped piece to the card front
  • Tie ribbon around the bottom edge of the of the card.  I added a bit of glue on each edge and under the bow to help the ribbon stay in place
  • Decorate the inside by stamping  the border stamp at the bottom edge

A pretty card that I can use for any occasion.  I have plenty of room on the inside to add a sentiment or write a note.  I think I could use this for an anniversary card because of the colors.....  What do you think??

A Load of Goodies from the Heirloom Stamping Show

Hi Dreamers!
Here I am back with photos of all the goodies I picked up at the Heirloom Stamping show on Saturday.  I spent four hours at the show walking around and talking to people.  I had a great time!   I spent too much money of course, but that goes without saying.........

Here is the first photo showing the items from the Technique Junkies booth.  I picked up three disk jam packed with ideas and techniques. And a bunch of really cool stamps.  TJ bought Stamp Camp last year and have added lots of new stamps to the line -- Awesome.

I have never tried Artful stamps, but the designs are so cute!!  I picked up a few of those:

One of my favorite companies, Sweet N Sassy.  Well, I may have gotten carried away.....

Impression Obsession--found some really nice images....That cover-a-card has chickens on it!!!  How could I pass that up??!!!  And some fun sentiments that I think will bring a smile to those on my card giving list.

And some Stamps that are more  on the artsy side from Invoke Arts and Stampland (a favorite)

And a few tools and supplies too:
That book is made of paper bags cut in half---very cool.  I also picked up 6 sheets of Cling for mounting bare rubber---essential.

An owl embossing folder!!   How could I walk away??!   A beautiful paper pad from Our Daily Bread Designs and some pearls

So, there you have it.   All my goodies.  I spent four hours yesterday cataloging all the stamps and putting everything away.   And two hours adding cling to the unmounted and trimming all the stamps.   It must be love.....  LOL   Yup, I love stamping.   Hope you have enjoyed taking a look.

Up next in Dreamland:  Something interesting from Lost Coast Designs!!  It has dragonflies.....  It will be fun!!  See you then.  Love ya.
