Cute Moose card for Stamping Vacation Challenge

Hi Everyone,

I made up a quick and cute card this morning for the Stamping Vacation Challenge Blog. This challenge is based on home decorating styles. This week the style is Rustic. So I made a cute moose card using woodsy colors.

I thought since moose are big I would add a big sentiment....hence Dream Big from Just Rite. The moose is Sam Moose Petite from Rubbernecker Stamps. I colored him with Copics and cut him out. I used some scraps from my scrap basket for the browns and greens. I die cut and embossed a piece of Chocolate Chip CS.

Stampavie Card for Challenges

Hi Girlfriends!

Nice and hot here. Good excuse to say inside and make cards. I have a challenge card today. I used one of my new Stampavie stamps courtesy of Simon Says Stamps...I won the drawing on the challenge blog over there and I finally got some Stampavie stamps that I have been wanting. I used the Sketch from the Stampavie blog. It is a really neat sketch with lots of design possibilities.

I made the card with several shades of pink and used the new Stampin' Up ink Poppy Parade. I borrowed Chris' new Just Rite Stamp System that she picked up at the Heirloom show Saturday to stamp the sentiment.

I stamped "Lily" on a die cut tag with black pigment ink and embossed. Then colored her with Copics. Using a mask, I stamped the tree and butterflies in Poppy Parade. I distressed the tag with Blush Blossom and Poppy Parade. The Scallop Accent is a piece of cotton fabric I cut with a scallop die cut. If you want to cut fabric on the Cuttlebug , add a piece of cardboard to your sandwich and it will cut through the fabric really well. I added piece of lace which was attached with staples (metal). I followed the sketch pretty closely this time.

A No No Bird Challenge Card

Hi Everyone,

I think I am recuperated from the busy weekend and ready to get back to work. I had to catalog all my new unmounted stamps and put them in binders. And, my Stampin' Up order came last night! Woohoo! I am as happy as a bunny in a clover field! I have a challenge card for you today. Over at Stamping Vacation Challenge Blog they are having a NO NO challenge. This weeks theme is NOT to use brads or eyelets. I found this easy enough. Now, if it had been not to use a bird, I may have had some difficulties. (Don't forget to stop over at Stamping Vacation and become a follower, and mention my name in the comments.) I used my trusty Stampin' Up bird punch for this card. I started with some shell pink CS. I punched the bird from DP. I used a Stampin' up flower stamp and stamped on white CS, colored, cut out and attached to a piece of torn Pink paper. Added the bird and a square of torn DP. Before attaching to the card, I sprayed with Brown Smooch and Pink Shimmer Mist. When dry, it was attached to the card.

Aftermath of Stamp Convention

Hey Everyone,

We had a great time at the Novi Michigan Heirloom show on Saturday. And, surprise surprise, we came home with lots and lots of new stamps. I did get the Copic markers I was lusting after. And, loads of unmounted and mounted stamps.

Here is some of the other stuff.

I also met lots of really nice people from stamping companies. Including Mitra from Impression Obsession, Estelle from The Stampsmith, Beth from Endless Creations, Pam from Morning Star, and The ladies from DRS Designs. Of course, they all had beautiful stamps that I could not resists.

On Saturday night, my nephew, came to spend a few days. He needed a card for his Grandpa K's birthday. I wanted to show you the card he made.

Pretty nice, isn't it? He used Stampin' Up and My Sentiment Exactly stamps, Old Olive and black CS, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip ink from SU. That brown paper in the background is dry embossed. I am sure Grandpa will just love getting this card. That's all for me today. Hope you have a great day.

Roaring Twenties Inspired Card

Hi Everyone,

I took a couple days off and had a break. I did not do any card making at all yesterday. So, now I feel refreshed and ready to get back at it. I finished up some difficult submissions and feel good about them. So, off they go to the magazines. Saturday, Chris, Sharon and I are heading out to the Heirloom Stamp Convention in Novi, Michigan. Can't wait!!! I have been saving up my mad money for months. I am going to see what I can find in Copics. I really need to flush out my collection. Should be lots of fun. Well, back to the card for today. I was totally inspired by the Stamping Vacation Inspiration Station Challenge. ( I was selected to be part of their new Design Team: see previous post.) Here is the image:

I just love 20's and 30's style fashions. And, I had the perfect stamp for this inspiration. I decided to go pretty collagey with this one. And, I added some vellum, fabric and beads. I am kind of going thru a bead thing lately. I have all these gorgeous beads just sitting there looking all lonely....so, I thought what the heck I need to start using them again. I used to use them on garments. A little beading on a collar really made the garment special. Here is the card.

Materials List:
Stamps: So Diva Clear Stamp Set from Hampton Arts, Dress Dummy from Inkadinkado, Misty Swirl Pattern from Hero Arts.

Inks: Perfect Plum and Elegant Eggplant from Stampin' Up.

Card Stock and Plum Paper: Anna Griffin.

I made the background paper by sponging Plum ink on white CS and then stamping the Misty Swirl stamp. I then stamped the Lady in darker ink over the background. I repeated the same procedure in a piece of vellum. I tore the vellum into strips, layered over the original image, and stapled them to the card. This is a pretty "jazzy" card, I think. I jazzed up the inside too:

Stampin' Up Party Fun

Hello Everyone,

I hosted a Stampin' Up party last night. It was pretty fun: girlfriends and cards. What come be better? Chocolate?? Yes, there was chocolate too. This was Sharon Disney's first party as a demonstrator. She did a great job. Here are the cards she designed for our make and takes. Very nice cards that all skill levels could make and enjoy making. Good job Sharon! The first card uses the Of the Earth set, Old Olive CS and ink. The second card uses the For All You Do set, Brocade Blue Ink and CS, and Close To Cocoa ink and CS. Aren't they cute??!!
And as a special "Thank You" to my guests, I made cards for them to take home. I think I got carried away with the Two Step Bird Punch. But, it is so cute I just can't resist it.

Bird Punch again and some pretty DP.

The next two cards use the Inspired By Nature and Upsy Daisy sets. The images were stamped with Very Vanilla Craft Ink. A bird of coarse and some dark green CS.

The last card uses the Inspired By Nature set, but no bird. Bye bye birdie. The ink is More Mustard and I added a pretty ribbon.

So, I did end up making the fruit pizza. I think it turned out good and I would probably make it again. Well, I guess that is all for me today. Have a great day!
