Very Vintage Card With Blockhead Stamps

Hello!
Here it is Very Vintage Challenge time again over at the Stamping Vacation Challenge Blog. The Challenge starts on Saturday, but I am giving you an advance look at the new challenge. You will not be able to link up until Saturday. I will be at an all day card making event on Saturday and that is why I am posting a little early. The theme for this month is Sewing.

Create a project that uses something related to sewing. Link your creation at the Stamping Vacation Challenge blog and be entered into the monthly drawing. You may enter as many times as you like. I decided to use one of the fabulous stamps from my Blockheads Stamp set Household Notions.

I stamped the image with Faded Jeans Distress ink and embossed it with clear powder. I layered it with blue CS that is dry embossed with a Tim Holtz folder and a Cuttlebug folder.



I distressed the dry embossing with distress inks. The ribbon edge stamped was stamped with Vintage Photo ink. The card base is made from cream CS. I cut the card base along the edge of the lace stamp.

Accents are ribbon, fabric, and buttons. I used a floral type ribbon (not the stiff side) to make the floret. I ran long stitches down one long edge and pulled the stitches to gather the ribbon. I used the stiff floral type ribbon because it laid flat when gathered. Fabric works well too. Soft ribbon has a different look when used in this manner. I wrapped a strip of fabric around the blue CS before gluing to the card base. I just crossed the ends of the strip and secured with some glue. I also added several buttons from my stash.

Baby Bud card for my neighbor

Hi, I am back again today.
I really wanted to share this card I made for my neighbor. Now, what is so special about that, you might be thinking. Well, the card is for my 3 year old neighbor and there is no special occasion... just that he is so darn cute. His name is Amir and he lives next door to me. Here is his card.


I used a Baby Bud image and colored it with Copics. CS: Bermuda Bay from Stampin' Up and Solar white from Neenah. DP is all from Crate Paper. I used a Spellbinders die to cut the image and DP.

Accents are ribbon and brads. On the inside, you may wonder why I stamped "bonjour" (Stampsmith stamps). There is a cute story behind this. Amir was out in the yard with his Grandpa and he was saying that Amir was learning French at his pre-school. When asked to speak French he said, "Bonjour". It was the cutest thing!!! Here is the inside of the card.

Color Combo Challenge Anniversary Card

Hi Everyone,
Time for a new Color Combo Challenge over at the Stamping Vacation Challenge Blog. I think you are going to love this combo. This the the challenge is to create a project using the colors:
Steel Blue and Rose
For my Design Team card, I used the Color Combo colors to create an anniversary card for my parents' anniversary. Take a look.
I also did a little stamping on the envelop. Here is a close up of that.

Now back to the card. The Bride's dress and heart stamps are from Inkadinkado. CS: Bordering Blue and Blushing Bride from Stampin' Up; and White. Inks: Bordering Blue and Blushing Bride - SU.
The card base is made from Bordering Blue and layered with Blushing Bride CS. The image was stamped in Bordering Blue, hearts in Blushing Bride ink. The pink stamped strip was made by stamping the heart repeatedly on white cs. I rotated the stamp to fill in all the spaces. I used a little glimmer Mist on the pieces before adding them to the card.


For accents, I used a wide sheer white ribbon and silver pearls. The sentiments are on the inside. They are all from My Sentiments Exactly. I also added more hearts and another piece of the stamped strip. Here is the inside.

Mother's Day Card

Hi Everyone,
Mother's Day is this Sunday. So, I thought I would post a couple cards made for Mother's Day. I make a card for my Mother , of course, but I also make them for my Godmother and my girlfriends. Here are a few of the cards I made and sent out.

Tea for Two

Hi Everyone,
Hope you are having a great Tuesday. We are having rain AGAIN here today. Where is the sunshine?? Quick post today. My super sweet stampin' buddy, Chris, lent me her new embossing folder from Stampin' Up. I embossed till my hand ached. Here is one of the cards that I made using the embossed background.

Cardstock used: Mellow Moss and Chocolate Chip (SU), Mustard (TPC). I stamped the teapots (Kodomo) in Chocolate Chip ink, and layered.

For accents, I used pearls, round metal dots, wine colored ribbon, and a hat pin.
I added a sentiment from SweetN'Sassy on the inside.

Owl card for Card Ministry

Hi and Happy Monday,
I have a quick post today to show you one of the cards we will be making tonight at Card Ministry. I did not put any sentiments on the sample card. The ladies like to select the sentiments. For this card, the sentiment will go on the inside.
I used Apricot Appeal, Real Red, and Chocolate Chip from Stampin' Up. the DP is from K & Company. I used the Owl punch and tree stamp from SU.

Stampsmith Challenge - Celebrating Mothers

Happy May Day!
I remember when I was a child living in Lincoln Nebraska, we celebrated May Day. We would fill small baskets with candy, put them on the porch of a friend and ring the door bell. And, then run. Well, I thought it was fun. But, we don't celebrate May Day in Michigan. Enough of the reminiscences-----On with the Challenge!!!

Since today is May 1, that means it is time for another Stampsmith Challenge!

The theme is: Celebrating Mothers.

So pull out your stamps and get busy. As it is the 1st of the month, any stamp manufacture may be used. There will also be a drawing for a $10 gift certificate to the Stampsmith Shop. Julie choose the theme and she wants to see cards with children, beautiful women, or even flowers. Here is my Design Team project:

I used the Little Angel (Large) stamp. My thinking was: Aren't all mothers angles? The Sentiment is from the Paris Full Sheet. I stamped the angel on Glossy White CS with Vintage Sepia ink (VersaFine). I cut out the image and a second layer of DP (K & Company) with a Spellbinders die. The card base is Close to Cocoa (Stampin' Up) and is layered with more DP (K & Co).

I added a great big bow (Offray) and some gold glitter glue (Ranger) for a little bling. The sentiment is stamped in black ink.
