Fall in The Thistle Garden

Happy Thursday,

It's Impression Obsession Challenge day. This fortnight is a color challenge. The colors are: Coffee, Pumpkin, Nutmeg.

I used the Thistle Garden stamp from IO. And, this is another of the Fall cards I have been making all month. ( I have finished all 20 and now have to get them all out in the mail.)

I colored the image with Copics. I popped up a bird and covered it with Glossy Accents. The frame is a Sizzix die cut using DP from SEI. The pumpkin CS is from Bazzill. Oh, and I rounded the corners.

I thought this stamp made a nice Fall card, so I made several more. Although, I did not do the coloring with Copics because it was very labor intensive. Here are some samples of the others using a different coloring technique. I used distress inks (Ranger) to color in the leaves and markers (Memento) on the birds and flowers.

Very different results using the same stamp. On the inside of all the cards I stamped this super sweet sentiment from Sweet and Sassy Stamps.

Other fun Challenges for the Fall Thistle Garden:

Dutch Dare: Use a tag

Play Date Cafe: Colors - Melon, Green, and White

Paper Romance: Fall card
Stampin For the Weekend: Autumn

That's about it for me today. I still have a few more Fall cards that I would like to show you. Check back later in the week for those.

Have a lovely day!

SEW Very Vintage

Hi Everyone,
It is Very Vintage Challenge time again. I have a Design Team card for you today. It is for the Stamping Vacation Blog's Very Vintage Challenge. This month the Challenge is to

Use more than one Gold Button.

And the prizes are:

For the month of October (announced November 1st) we have STAMPING DRAGON DESIGNS as a sponsor. They will be giving away 4 free images! And Stamping Vacation will add in a $15.00 gift certificate to Papertrey Ink!

I have used a Stamping Dragon Design sewing machine image in my vintage card.

I watercolored the image with inks, cut it out, and added lots of do-dads. (That's another word for stuff.) There is some cotton fabric from my stash, a card of vintage buttons, lace, scrap of a pattern tissue, seam binding, brown tissue paper, elastic, decorative paper, and three gold buttons. This was a fun one to make... It was SEW much fun. LOL

I am as busy as a beaver this week. Still have lots to do. So, I had better get moving!
Have a great day!

A Little Halloween Treat

Hi Everyone,
Nice rainy Saturday here. I have been working on my fall and Halloween cards that I send out to friends and family. I have 20 Fall cards done. I will post some photos of those later in the week. But, today I have a Halloween card to share with you. I only have 2 Halloween cards finished and this is one of them. I also made a matching treat holder for a lollipop.

And here is a close up of just the card.

I colored the witch with Copics and cut her out. I bumped her up with dimensional sqaures. I stamped the trees and then using the Ranger distress tool, added all the black night sky with black ink.

Stamps: Tree and "Witchin You" from Stampin' Up; Happy Halloween from Impression Obsession; Witch from Whipper Snapper Designs.

DP: Debbie Mumm

Here is a close up of the Treat holder. I did not put an acutal lillipop in the holder. It would just slip in the opening and be held in place with a little double sided tape. ( I was fresh out of lollipops so, you will have to use your imagination.)

Fun Challenges for this Halloween Card:

By the Cute and Girly: Spooky

Stamp Challenges: Something to celebrate

Sentimental Sundays: Show some Dimension

Stamping Vacation Pick Three: I picked black ribbon, Torn edge, something scary

Aud Sentiments: Any Halloween Sentiment

Paper Pretties blog: Animal or animal print

That's it for me today. Have a great day!

Stampsmith Challenge #1: All Dressed Up

Hi Everyone,
If you have joined me from the Stampsmith Challenge Blog, Welcome. Today is the first Challenge hosted by The Stampsmith. The theme is: All Dressed Up. This theme would encompass bling, crowns, shoes, purses, costumes, etc... Any of the things you would wear for Dressing Up. There is lots of scope in that list and it should be sparking ideas in your head right now. LOL. This challenge runs for 2 weeks so you have plenty of time. And, did I mention prizes? You will be entered into a drawing for a $10 gift certificate to The Stampsmith.

You are encouraged to us Stampsmith stamps if you have them, however; you may enter this challenge using any stamped images for your chance to expand your Stampsmith collection.

I think I got all the details, but just in case, click over and read all the info. And to link up your creation of course.

So, now that I'm done with all the hype, let me share my project with you.
I made a mini suitcase using a template from Scrap Bitz Designs. There is a free tutorial over at there. It is super fun to make.

As you can see, I used a stamp from the Audrey Hepburn Full Sheet from The Stampsmith. I framed the lovely Audrey with frame cut with a Sizzix die. I layered the image onto some DP from Penny Black and did a little distressing with Vintage Photo from Ranger. The sentiment is computer generated. I used black velvet ribbon for the suitcase straps and Black CS from Stampin' Up for the handle. The suitcase also opens up. And it is just the right size for a gift card. I made up a personal coupon to go inside my suitcase. Because when you are "all dressed up with no place to go" you defiantly want someone to call up and say, "what are you doing tonight?" Boy, I sure am chatty today. Here is the inside.

Fun project. So, now that I have inspired you to create greatness (LOL), get busy and join in the challenge. Just think of the lovely stamps you could get with the gift certificate. OHHHH.

That's all for me today. Have a super day!

Paris Lady Card with a Little Lace

Hi Everyone,
Happy Thursday. The weather is perfect here today in Michigan. I am in a lacey and beady kind of mood. So, I made this card using the Stampsmith stamp, Paris Eiffel Dress. I stamped the image on white glossy paper with black dye ink. I colored the image with Copics. I layered with black CS and some DP. I stamped a shadow square with Sage Shadow ink and stamped over top with an Eiffel tower and cut out. I added some velvet ribbon, black and cream lace, and lots of beads.

Product list:

Stamps: Paris Eiffel Dress from The Stampsmith; Shadow square and Eiffel tower from My Sentiments Exactly.

Inks: Tuxedo Black from Memento; Sage Shadow from Stampin' Up.

CS: Sage Shadow and black from SU

DP: K & Company, My Minds Eye.

Lace, velvet ribbon, and beads.

Detail shots so you can see the beads close up.

And, one more just for fun.

Oh, I guess that's all for me today. Don't for get that the first Stampsmith Challenge is on October 1st!!

Have a great day!
