Anniversary Card with The Stampsmith

Hello Dreamers!
Today, I have a card made for my parents' anniversary.  I used an adorable stamp from the "Thank Heaven for Little Girls #1" from The Stampsmith.    The card is made with a background I created using teal inks, sprays, and a Crafters Workshop Template.  The ink and spray is from the Ranger Adirondack line and is called Stream.  I decorated the envelope too.

See my tutorial on creating the background here.   Add the background piece to a card base made from Taken with Teal CS (Stampin' Up).  Cut two circles from Pool Party CS (SU) and dry emboss the smaller circle.   Distress the circles with Broken China Distress Ink.  Add both circles to the background.  Stamp the sentiment (My Sentiments Exactly) with Stream ink; cut out and add to card front.  Tie ribbon around card.

Stamp the photo stamp (The Stampsmith) with black dye ink on white glossy CS.  Layer with black and Taken with Teal  CS and add to card.

I also added some paper flowers from Michaels.  Isn't this couple too, too, sweet??!!   And, here is what the inside looks like.  The sentiment is from Victorine Originals.

I thought you might enjoy some photos of the Spring flowers in my yard.  I went out to do some clean up work and thought that this corner looked so lovely with all its soft blooms.

The blue flowers are Forget me Nots.  The white are some kind of small poppy.  The purple in the very back left are Lamium.  Should have Peonies next month.  The weeds sure are doing well too and need to be pulled.

Vintage Pitcher and Basin

Hi Dreamers!
I'm back with two vintage style cards.  I used a gorgeous stamp from Serendipity Stamps - Pitcher and Basin.
Both cards were made using a emboss resist technique.  I colored the backgrounds with Distress inks.  Here is the first card.

The image is stamped with brown pigment ink and heat embossed on Bordering Blue CS (SU).   Add the Distress inks with a Ranger Ink Application  tool.  I added small pearls and a sheer ribbon.

On the second card, I stamped with light blue pigment ink and clear embossing powder on white CS.

The CS is from Bazzill and SU.  The DP is from K&Company.  I added pearls and sheer ribbon to this card too.

Borders into Backgrounds

Hi Dreamers!
It has been a busy week, but I am back today with some more card making fun!  All of the designers on the Blockheads Team are going mad for border stamps this week.  Each of us has come up with some really interesting and different ways to use Border Stamps from Lost Coast Designs .    I used one of the borders to create a striped background.  Any one of the border stamps could be used in this way.  I added some of the Alice in Wonderland images to my cards.  So here we go with the first card!  I call this one "Alice Ponders".

I stamped the border stamp in a group of three coordinating ink colors.  I used a Pink/Red combo for my projects.  But, I also tried the Distress ink green and brown color groups and that looked great too.  I plan on using that in future projects.    I stamped from dark to light.  After stamping (and it took several tries to get the rows straight-LOL) I trimmed the CS to fit my dark cherry colored card base.

Alice was stamped on Pink CS with Black Memories dye ink.  Die cut Alice and a piece of dark cherry CS with Spellbinders Oval dies.  I added three paper flowers and a white satin ribbon.    I also decorated the inside.   I used  my scraps here.

This card could be used for a birthday, TOY, hello, or anything else your heart desires.  And, now onto card number 2.

I used the same ink colors on this card, but changed the order.  I went light-med-dark-med-light.  The Queen is stamped with Fired Brick and layered with Black CS.  I added a pink polka dot ribbon that extends off the edge of the card.

Peacock and Perfect Pearls....Perfect!

I wanted to share another Perfect Pearls project with you.  I used the new Blockheads Proud as a Peacock stamp set. 

Materials List:

Stamps: Blockhead Paper Arts Proud as a Peacock

Perfect Pearls Pastels set

Perfect Medium

Galaxy Gold Pigment Ink

Clear Embossing Powder

Gold Ribbon

Black and Metallic Cardstocks

Stamp the background Peacock stamp with Perfect Medium on black CS and Gold Paper.  Add the Perfect Pearls powder and push into the ink with a brush and brush off the excess.  Layer the black  piece with the metallic CS's.    Cut a strip from the stamped Gold paper.  Glue the gold paper over the black stamped piece.  Tie a gold ribbon around the layers.  Stamp the peacock with Gold pigment ink and emboss with clear powder.  Cut out the peacock and add to the card with 3-D Zots.

Well, wasn't that fun.  Don't you love the glittery shimmer of the Perfect Pearls?!   The metallic CS is just yummy with the Perfect Pearls.  The Blockhead's Technique Challenge is currently running.    Stop over and link up your project!   Have a great day!!  Love ya.

Shabby Chic with Some Perfect Pearls, Some Crackle Paint, and a Flower

Hi Dreamers!
Oh boy, I have been having fun with my new Perfect Pearls supplies and some Distress Crackle Paint (on sale now at Blockheads Paper Arts).  Sounds like a strange combination doesn't it!??  My thought process went like this...Colleen (fellow DT member) made a cool card using Crackle Paint.  So, then I had to paint everything with Crackle Paint.  I painted some die cut pieces and thought they turned out really good.  I used a crackle painted butterfly and a frame on this project.    The background was created with stamps and Perfect Pearls.  Paint the die cuts with Rock Candy Crackle Paint (Ranger) first.  Let it dry  The paint has to air dry or it won't crackle.

Background

While the Crackle Paint is drying make the background.  Start out with a pale pink CS.  Stamp the Script and Lines stamps with Perfect Medium.  I also used an old, inexpensive rust colored ink pad to ink onto the stamp over the Perfect Medium.  This added more depth to the stamping.  I used an old one so I would not get Perfect  Medium on a good ink pad.  After stamping, sprinkle Blush Perfect Pearls Powder over the background.  Use a brush to "push" the powder into the inks and remove excess.    Distress the edges of the cardstock with a pair of scissors.  Really rough it up.  I wanted a shabby chic feel.    Now we can make the center motif.

 Stamp the Large Flower Vignette with Raisin Adirondack Ink (Ranger)  on tan CS.  Spray with Green Patina Perfect Pearls Mist.   Assemble all the pieces.  Layer the background onto a distressed piece of Rust CS.  Add the main stamped image.  Glue the frame over the top of the flower.  Don't glue it down flat.  Let some of the edges remain up.  We want a really shabby chic look.  Add the butterfly.  Add a few squirts of the Green Patina Perfect Pearls Mist to the whole piece.  Add two small pearls to the flower.
Don't forget the fibers!

I braided three strips of cotton print fabric.  Tie a knot in one end and pin to a design board or your ironing board will work too- something that you can get a pin into.   And, just braid, like you would braid hair.  When you have the desired length, tie another knot and trim the ends.   Glue onto the card.  

There!  We are all done.  Wasn't that fun!!   I am displaying my shabby chic piece on an end table in my living room.  I placed it on a small easel.

Vintage Masculine Card With Blockheads

Hi Dreamers!!

How about a masculine card today!!  I am still using the backgrounds I created with ink sprays and Crafters Workshop Templates.  See my tutorial here.  I used Blockheads Stamps for my project.  Here is my masculine card.

Walnut Ink Spray-Terra Cotta

Vintage Photo Distress Ink-Ranger

Black Dye Ink

Black Marker

Kraft Cardstock

Baker's Twine

I started out by creating the background.  Using Kraft Cardstock, place the template down on the CS.  Spray with the Walnut ink spray.  Cut to size.  Save any of the scrap pieces.  Distress the edges of all pieces with Vintage Photo ink.  Stamp the background with the Small dashes stamp from the Grunge It Upset. Cut a strip of diamonds from the scraps and glue to the front of the card.  Tear a piece from the scraps. Glue the torn piece to the card front.  Stamp  the Two Wheeler and Australian Postage image (Vintage Light & Form set) with black ink.  Add the twine.  Make small dots with black marker. 

Isn't this a fun card!!???  I think this will be a great card for a birthday or Thinking of You.

Spring Colors Challenge with The Stampsmith

Hi Dreamers!
The first of the month sure seems to roll around quickly these days.  LOL  And, the first means it is time for a new challenge theme at The Stampsmith's Challenge Blog. The new theme for the month of April is:

SPRING COLORS

We would like to see all the lovely colors of Spring on your Stampsmith project.  You will have all month to complete your project that uses a Stampsmith image.  At the end of the challenge, a random draw will select one participant to receive a full sheet of rubber from The Stampsmith (a $21 value!!!)  
For my Spring Colors Design Team project I used a stamp from the Full Sheet Called "Thank Heaven For Little Girls 1".   Here is what the whole set looks like.

Adorable, is all I can say!!  Here is my card.

The Spring Sentiment is from the Botanica Full Sheet.   All the papers and the ribbon are from Stampin' UP.  I stamped the darling little girl with Tuxedo Black dye ink from Memento on glossy white CS.  I wanted to add a touch of color to the photo stamp.  So, I colored the flowers with Copic Markers.  The Copics worked well since I stamped with dye ink.
