Vintage Bird Single Layer Card

Happy Fourth of July!!

Hi Dreamers,
Not doing too much today for the holiday.  My husband is still not feeling well ( still recovering from pneumonia).  He has been off work for a month now.  He is taking a nap right now.  That gives me some free time to do a bit of blogging.  I have a fun single layer card to share with you today!  I used "Timely Bird" from Hero Arts  for this project.  I went all vintagey!!

  • Make a folded card from pale yellow CS (this is Barely Banana from Stampin' Up)
  • Tear bottom edge
  • Stamp image with Onyx Black VersaFine ink
  • Layer a paper doily onto the card--cover the stamped image with a scrap piece of paper
  • Spray paper doily with spray inks (I used Willow Walnut ink)
  • Let Dry

  • Spray more of the Willow and add a bit of Walnut spray ink
  • Color the flowers, leaves, and clock faces with Distress Markers
  • Distress edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink

  • Add a bow and some tiny pearls
  • All done!  Stamp your favorite sentiment on the inside

This card is entered in the:
Hero Arts: single layer card
Ruby's Challenge: things with wings

So, that is all for me today.  I will be sharing all my bug themed cards next.  So, stayed tuned for that!!  I made a bunch of those.  Very fun!!   Have a great day!!  Love ya

Butterfly Kisses and Valentines with The Stampsmith

Hi Dreamers,
It is all about the LOVE this week in Dreamland.   I wanted to share a Valentine's Day card I made with Stampsmith stamps.  This stamp is called Butterfly Kisses.

I sprayed the glossy white CS with  pink spray ink from A Muse Studios.  When that was dry, I stamped  this sweet image with black dye over the pink spray ink.

The sentiment is from The Stampsmith full sheet, Paris.

Ain't she sweet!!??    I will be sending this out to someone for Valentine's Day.  Well, I hope you have a great day!!  Love ya.

Dress Form in Fall Colors

Hi Dreamers!
How is your weekend going?  Having a nice weekend here.  I went to a local farm market and picked up lots of fresh veggies.  Starting to really feel like Fall now.  Since I am feeling really Fall-ish, I have a card today made with Fall colors.  My card is made with stamps from Character Construction--Mannequin Cafe #6 stamp set.

To make my Dress Form in Fall Colors:

  • On cream CS use spray ink with a Template
  • Distress edges with Dried Marigold Distress ink.
  • Stamp the Dress Form and No with Sienna Archival ink

  • Add to a Rust card base
  • Add the Rhinestone flourish

I love how this stamp looks with the Fall swirls in the background.  I am going to send this to someone for a "hello" card.

A few Challenges for my Dress Form Card:
2 sisters Challenge: fall
Brown sugar: Anything goes
Frosted Designs: paints, mists, ink
Stampin for the weekend: Anything goes
Artful Times: orange, brown, white

I sent out eight Halloween cards today!  Eight people will be getting some frightfully happy mail.  LOL  Enjoy your weekend!  Love ya.
