Get Well Dog

 Hello Everyone,

This is a card I made for a friend whose dog has been having some health problems.  The dog did end up in a cone.  So........I thought this stamp was just perfect to send to Dakota (the dog).

Dog stamp from Bunches of Fun by Stampin' Up.  Sentiments are from an older My Favorite Things stamp set.
Dog is colored with a Ranger Distress Marker.

Inside of card:

So just a fun kind of card to make and send for a friend. It was appreciated.  Dakota smelled it many times.  LOL
See you next time with something crafty.  I have to get busy on my Christmas cards!!
Hope your day is lovely.

The Perfect Companion with Technique Junkies

Hello Dreamers!
Here is a stamp for all the pet lovers in your life! This stamp is a new release from Technique Junkies!   I made a fun card that I will send to one of those dog lovers in my life.  LOL   I used a background technique from one of the Technique Junkie CDs too.

Ink: Versa Mark; Not Quite Navy and Taken with Teal dye ink (Stampin' Up)
CS: White, teal
Clear Embossing Powder
Spellbinders Die
Distress stains: Vintage Photo, Faded Jeans, Wild Honey
Heat gun
Craft sheet

Make It:

  • Make a card from Teal CS
  • On watercolor paper and following the Stain Resist Technique, create the background. I used the Love Hands stamp, Versa Mark ink, and the distress stains listed above.
  • Distress the edges with Taken with Teal dye ink
  • Add the background to card base

  •  Stamp the Perfect Companion with Not Quite Navy and Taken with Teal dye ink.  Note: ink the stamp with both inks starting with the lighter colored ink
  • Cut the image with die and add to card
  • Add a bow

  •  On the inside, stamp the Love hands
There is plenty of room left to write a note on the inside.

Stampsmith Challenge for April!

Hi Dreamers!
Happy first day of April!!  And, that means a new monthly challenge on the Stampsmith Challenge blog.  Thanks to everyone that left challenge ideas in the comment section of the Challenge blog!  Barbara W and Stamper Sue both suggested Black/White with a splash of color.  So, guess what!!  That is the theme that has been selected for the month of April!

Black and White with a splash of Color
With a least one Stampsmith Stamp

I went to work and came up with my Design Team creation using a stamp from the "It's a Dog's Life" Full Sheet.  Of course I used black and white ---- with a splash of RED.  I made this card a Flap Fold design.

Here you can see how the flap extends out over the front.  The Sentiment is from the "Say It Like It Is" Full Sheet.

  • Flap Fold Card Base: Cut a base 4 1/4" x 9 1/2" from CS
  • Score at 4"
  • Make the center piece large enough to overlap the front.  I made my center piece the size of the image plus four layers.  3 1/2" x 5"

This is what the layout looks like from the inside:

Flap(black)                               Score                       Inside

Another look at the overhang.

  • Stamp the puppy and kittens with black dye ink on glossy white CS.
  • Layer with red and black CS
  • The black/white DP is from My Mind's Eye

  • Stamp sentiment with black dye ink on smooth white CS.
  • Add a red satin bow

Inside

I have plenty of room on the inside to stamp another sentiment or write a note.  Very fun!!   Get out you Stampsmith stamps and make your own black/white with a splash of color project!! I can't wait to see what you come up with!!  Link up over on the Stampsmith Challenge Blog.

And, a few other super fun Challenges!!
