The Stampsmith August Challenge--Trip to Paris

Hi Dreamers,
First of the month already!  My, isn't this summer flying by?!!  Time for a new Challenge on The Stampsmith Blog!  The theme for the month of August is:

World Traveler

......With at least one Stampsmith Stamp please.  Link up your project on the Stampsmith Challenge Blog for a chance to win a $21 gift certificate.

For my Design Team project, I used the Paris Full Sheet to create a Travel Collage.  I went with  a Black/White color scheme with a pop of Teal.

Instructions:

  • Stamp three different  stamps (I stamped one twice) from the Paris set with black dye ink on four separate pieces of glossy white CS to make four images.
  • Position the stamped images on a white CS base in a collage manner overlapping the images.
  • Once happy with the arrangement, glue them down and trim all the edges that  hang over the CS base.
  • Tie sheer black ribbon around collage
  •  Layer with Black CS.

  • Stamp the sentiment on Vellum with black Stazon ink.
  • Attached the vellum with black brads
  • Layer onto a card made from Teal CS (This is Taken With Teal from Stampin' Up.)

I hope you will join in with our World Traveler Challenge!!  Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Hope your week is going  well.  See you soon for more of the Watercolor scraps cards!!  (See the first two samples of the Watercolor Scrap cards here)  Love ya!

Stampsmith Challenge for April!

Hi Dreamers!
Happy first day of April!!  And, that means a new monthly challenge on the Stampsmith Challenge blog.  Thanks to everyone that left challenge ideas in the comment section of the Challenge blog!  Barbara W and Stamper Sue both suggested Black/White with a splash of color.  So, guess what!!  That is the theme that has been selected for the month of April!

Black and White with a splash of Color
With a least one Stampsmith Stamp

I went to work and came up with my Design Team creation using a stamp from the "It's a Dog's Life" Full Sheet.  Of course I used black and white ---- with a splash of RED.  I made this card a Flap Fold design.

Here you can see how the flap extends out over the front.  The Sentiment is from the "Say It Like It Is" Full Sheet.

  • Flap Fold Card Base: Cut a base 4 1/4" x 9 1/2" from CS
  • Score at 4"
  • Make the center piece large enough to overlap the front.  I made my center piece the size of the image plus four layers.  3 1/2" x 5"

This is what the layout looks like from the inside:

Another look at the overhang.

  • Stamp the puppy and kittens with black dye ink on glossy white CS.
  • Layer with red and black CS
  • The black/white DP is from My Mind's Eye

  • Stamp sentiment with black dye ink on smooth white CS.
  • Add a red satin bow

Inside

I have plenty of room on the inside to stamp another sentiment or write a note.  Very fun!!   Get out you Stampsmith stamps and make your own black/white with a splash of color project!! I can't wait to see what you come up with!!  Link up over on the Stampsmith Challenge Blog.

And, a few other super fun Challenges!!

Allsorts: vintage
Challenges 4 everybody: anything goes
