Grateful Thanksgiving Cards

Hello Everyone,
I am keeping busy getting ready for hosting Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday. Today I have to clean my house and hopefully I will have some energy left to rake up a few leaves outside.
I wanted to share another set of Thanksgiving cards that I made to send to family and friends.
The stamps are from Stampin' Up.  I used a kaleidacolor ink pad to stamp the tree.  Then strips were cut from Fall colored papers.

Acorns and Thanksgiving

Hello Dreamers!
 I have been busy working in the yard the last three days.  I planted 400 bulbs!  Phew!  That was a job!  But, it is all done now.  I will have to wait until March or April to see the fruits of my labor.  I think it will be worth the wait.

So, today I am taking a few minutes to share a Thanksgiving card with you.  This card came together by combining die cut acorns, a paper doily, ribbon, twine and pretty papers.  

 The acorn stamp and die is from Stampin' Up, sentiment from Amuse Studios.

This is a card I made to send to a family member.   I will be sharing all the Thanksgiving cards I made over the next few weeks. I will also be posting Christmas cards.  So, lots of fun here in Dreamland!

Fall Colors and Trees with Technique Junkies

Hello Dreamers,
We are really enjoying Fall weather here in Michigan, USA.  The leaves are turned and falling--now I have to rake--again!  Oh well, the trees are so pretty.  And, with all the beautiful colors outside, I just had to use those same colors on my projects.  I made two Fall cards using stamps from the Technique Junkies November New Release .

Materials List:

Stamps: Creaking Trees and Glowing Branches both from Technique Junkies

Ink: Archival Black and Sepia

CS: Kraft, black, and orange

Tulle 

Ribbon

Make It:

• Make a card base from kraft CS
• On orange CS stamp the branches of the Glowing Branches stamp with Sepia ink; set aside
• On kraft CS, stamp Creaking Trees with black ink; add a layer of black CS

•  Add stamped trees piece to orange background
• Wrap tulle around this unit; tie in a knot and then add to card base
• Tie ribbon around tulle

On the second card, a dry embossed background was used.  Distress the dry embossing with Vintage Photo Distress ink.

Add ribbon in a criss-cross pattern.  

Great stamps! I just love this stamp.  I would use this for Thanksgiving too.

Turkey in Pot Thanksgiving Card

Hello Everyone,

Getting closer to Thanksgiving here in the USA--next week.  Thought I better get this Thanksgiving Card posted. To get you in the mood to make a few Thanksgiving cards.  LOL    I used a fun digi set from Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet --the set includes the sentiment.

Materials List:

Stamps: Turkey Talk digi set from Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet

CS: Solar white Neenah; Really Rust and Ruby Red from Stampin' Up

DP: Orange - Stampin' Up

Copic Markers

Oval die cut - Sizzix

3/8" Circle Punch

Orange Ribbons

Washi Tape - Stampin' Up

Instructions:

• Make a card from Really Rust CS
• Layer with DP
• Add two strips of Washi Tape
• Print the digi turkey and sentiment
• Color with Copic Markers
• Fussy cut both

• Die cut an oval from Ruby Red CS and add to card
• Add the images with dimensional adhesive

This card went out in the mail to a family member.  I think they will get a chuckle out of it.

For my design team project, I used a fun digi set from Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet and made Thanksgiving cards to send to my family.  I made two versions using the same image. And to  "Say It In Color", I stamped my sentiment in different colors of ink.

CARD #1

Materials List:

Dye Ink: orange and brown

Spellbinders dies- Circles and Rectangles

3/8" Circle Punch

Orange Ribbons

Liquid Pearls-white

 Instructions:

• Make cards from orange and Ruby Red card stock 
• Layer with DP's
• Print out the turkeys on Solar White CS--Let the ink dry
• Color images with Copic Markers
• Die cut images with Spellbinders and add a layer beneath
• Add to card with dimensional adhesive

• Stamp the Alpha Dots to spell out the words "Turkey Time" 
• Punch out each letter with the 3/8" circle punch--or cut by hand
• Add to the card with dimensional adhesive
• Add ribbon bows

CARD #2

• Card #2 is made the same way
• Add Liquid Pearls to the background paper

Really fun image!!  I stamped Happy Thanksgiving on the inside.  The cards will be sent out to my family.

Halloween Leaves

Hello Friends,
Don't have any Halloween stamps?  This card show that you can adapt a fall stamp to make a Halloween card.  Take a look.

Materials:

Stamps: Fall Scene (retired) - Stampin Up; Sentiments - My Sentiments Exactly

CS: orange, black, white
DP: Halloween - Authentic

Inks: Orange and green Distress inks; Kaleidacolor ink pad; black dye ink
Orange and Green Markers
Sheer Ribbon
Stickles

Instructions:

• Make card from orange CS
• Layer with DP and black CS
• On white CS, stamp the Fall scene--use markers to ink the stamp or a Kaleidacolor ink pad -- I used markers on this sample and the Kaleidacolor pad on the samples in the group photo below
• Layer the image with black, orange, and white CS
• Stamp a leaf and cut out; add with dimensional adhesive
• Tie with ribbon and add Stickles

• On inside of card, stamp sentiment and distress with inks

Guest Designing with Blessing Ink and A Muse Studios

Welcome!  Today's post is the third post for my Guest Designing spot on Chris' blog: Blessings Ink.

Chris is an A Muse Studios Demonstrator and hosts weekly challenges with  weekly winners and top picks.  The weekly winners are eligible for the monthly prize.   I will be posting projects for each of the weekly challenges all during the month of September.

I used a non-fall stamp to make my Fall Foliage.  I just used fall colors instead!! I made three cards using the same stamp set.  Take a look.

Materials List:

Stamps: Floral Duet set from A Muse Studios

Pigment Inks: Nutmeg, Poppy, Papaya, Orange Pigment from A Muse Studios

Cardinal Versa Color

Distress Ink: Dried Marigold

Clear Embossing Powder

CS: cream, kraft, brown, rust, dark red

Buttons: A Muse Studios

Ribbon: Orange and Papaya from A Muse Studio; sheer brown; sheer white

 Instructions:

• Make a card from brown CS
• On Kraft CS, stamp the large flower several time with Nutmeg pigment ink and heat emboss
• Add this background piece to the card base

• On cream CS, stamp the large and the small flower with Nutmeg and Cardinal inks; heat emboss
• Cut out the two flowers and add to card with dimensional adhesive
• Add a button to center of the flower

• Tie sheer brown ribbon in bow and add to card

The second card is made in the same manner:

• On Cream CS, stamp the large flower with Poppy, Nutmeg, Papaya, and Orange inks
• Heat emboss
• Stamp a large  and small flower on another piece of cream CS using Orange and Cardinal pigment inks
• Heat emboss the two flowers and cut out
• Add to the card
• Wrap Papaya ribbon around card and tie bow in Orange ribbon
• Place  buttons in the center of the flower and under the bow

The third card has a distressed background and uses the same ink colors.

Three cards from one stamp set..now that is really using your stamps potential.  LOL  Now, I have three nice cards to send out to someone this fall.
