More Paper Artsy With The Blockheads

Hi Dreamers!
I managed to get all my stamps from the Heirloom show mounted and cataloged.  I finished up this morning.  And, had time to make a few more samples using the Lynne Perrella - Paper Artsy .  I have two finished projects, but I got carried away stamping....are you surprised?!   I will show you everything.   Let's  start with this card.

Inks:

Memento- Gray Flannel, Rhubarb Stalk, Rich Cocoa, Tuxedo Black

Versa Magic- Niagara Falls, Pink Petunia

Distress Inks- Frayed Burlap, Forest Moss, Tattered Rose, Spun Sugar, Vintage Photo

I started by stamping the Round  frame with Niagara Falls ink, and then the Ship Hat lady in Gray Flannel.
Add some stamped sea shells.  I made four different samples using the same inks on different colors of CS.  The card above is made with the White CS sample.   I saved the other pieces for later.

I wanted a bit of texture on the white CS so....

I sponged on some Frayed Burlap.  Then added Forest Moss with the regular Ranger applicator.

The piece was layered on bright green and black CS.  I added a scrap of gauze fabric, black lace, ribbon, and large pearls.

The second finished project is made in the same way-by stamping the Rectangle frame with  Pink Petunia and the Lady with Rhubarb Stalk.

And, here are the other samples I made.

Stamp some script with Rich Cocoa.  So, again, I wanted to add some texture and I just happened to have a piece of Crinkle CS laying on the table......

I pounced the ink onto the Crinkle CS and them press the CS into the cream CS.  See what neat lines this made.  Distress with Tattered Rose, Spun Sugar, and Vintage Photo.   Use the Crinkle CS as a layering piece.

I gathered a piece of sheer fabric to make a rosette like thingy, and added a clock metal piece.

All My Goodies From Stamping Show

Hi Dreamers!
Well, I survived a day of power shopping at the Heirloom Stamping Show.  I found lots of goodies that I wanted to bring home!  And, met some very nice stampers...Lisa Somerville from Our Daily Bread; and Pat Huntoon from Technique Junkies,  Also stopped in to say Hi to Mitra at Impression Obsession.  Checked out some enamel powders from Piccolo, met Mary from Stamp Camp......   And, all the stamps!!  Here are all my goodies!

I have the unmounted mounted and still have to get them cataloged and on storage boards.  Just think of all the fun stuff I can make!!  It is like "visions of sugar plums dancing in my head" except the cards and stamps are doing the dancing.  LOL. Paper Artsy in Shades of Green

Here I am back from the Heirloom Stamping Show!!  Spent way too much!!  Are you surprised??!!  I will show you what I bought tomorrow.
All the members of the Design Team over on the  Blockheads Blog are showcasing the Lynne Perrella Paper Artsy stamps. I finished up my  project- you may have seen it unfinished on my Workdesk Wednesday post here.  I used some amazing Lynne Perrella Stamps (Paper Artsy)  I used stamps from two sets to create this wall hanging that measures 5 3/4 x 7 1/2 inches.

Crackle Background -Blockheads

Lynne Perrella Paper Artsy Stamps-Pageant (LPC002) and Royalty (LPC007)

Inks:

Black Tuxedo Memento Ink

Distress Ink Pads-Shabby Shutters, Crushed Olive, Peeled Paint, Forest Moss 

Distress Stains- Peeled Paint and Pumice Stone

Neenah Solar White CS

Black CS

Craft Sheet

Mat Board

Black Tulle

Rhinestones

Stamp the images on White Cs.  Cut out the smaller images.  Save the small lady for another project.  LOL

Get out your Craft Sheet for this...we are going to get inky.  Place the Distress stains on the Craft sheet with a few squirts of water.  Place the stamped images into the stain.

Ink the Crackle Background stamp with Shabby Shutters DI and spray with water. Stamp. 

Add more color with the other Distress Inks.

Mount all the pieces on Black CS and spray with glimmer mist.  I mounted the piece onto some mat board to make it pretty rigid.  Add the cut out shapes with 3-D Zots.

I added some rhinestones in the corners and wrapped some Black Tulle around the edges.

This was a fun project and love the green, green, greenness of it.  (Wow, greenness is real word.)  Hope you are having a great weekend!

Birdhouse Garden with Character Construction

Hi Dreamers!
Lovely rainy day here in Michigan!   Today, I have two garden themed cards to share.  I used stamps from Character Construction.  Set #4 from Mad Tea Party and Set #22 from Birds & Bees Paperie.  I created a garden scene by stamping with black dye ink on white CS.  And, that is where the similarity between the two cards ends.

Pink Birdhouse Garden

The images are colored with Copic Markers.  I used some Distress ink on the white cardstock: Spun Sugar and Victorian Velvet.  I punched a pink edging for the bottom of the card.

I added  buttons just for fun and some tiny pink pearls.  Isn't this birdy sweet??!!

I wrapped a sheer ribbon around the card and knotted a pink ribbon around the sheer ribbon.  

And, on to card number two, which is more vintagey.

Vintage Birdhouse Garden

I stamped the images exactly the same on the white CS.  I was thinking that I wanted to use paint some how.  And, then, I thought of my Crackle paints.  I brushed on some Brushed Corduroy and realized that it covered the stamping.    OOOPPS.  I grabbed a rag and rubbed it off and it left a really cool staining effect.   Loved that!!  Then I went over everything with Rock Candy (which is clear) Crackle paint (Ranger).    The paint takes a while to dry, so I went to bed.....  In the morning, the paint was all dry and cracklely.  

I tore the painted and stamped piece to size.  Added some Rusty Hinge Distress Ink and layered onto dark brown and peach CS.   I continued the button idea on this card too.  Added a bit of lace.

Stamped the Birdhouse again on the inside and added more Rusty Hinge ink.  I left plenty of room to write a note.

Now, how about a few Challenges??!!!

WOYWW 166: Project Almost Finished

Hi Dreamers,
Here I am today with a photo of my work table for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday #166.  The project you see is almost finished.  I added a few more embellishment fiber type things and I will post the finished project on Saturday--later in the day.  I am going to the Heirloom Stamp Show on Saturday.  I will show you what I purchase --Sunday or Monday.
So, what is on my work table?  Lots of inks, the unfinished project, and fibers.  There are some scraps from the project over there on the left.  I will use them in some other project.  Really hate to waste any of the backgrounds I make.

Just a quick post today!   Tomorrow, I will have something from Character Construction!!  No sneaky peeks or hints....It is a surprise!!  Have a lovely evening.  Love ya.

Mini Book Technique Challenge with Blockheads

Hi Dreamers!
Today, I have my Design Team  project for the August Technique Challenge at Blockheads!   I followed Trisha's binding method using ribbon to hold the book together.  I had a couple false starts while making my book.
Here are a few tips.  The first attempt-I was trying to use too many different stamps.  Pick one set and work with that.  Also, pick one or two colors and use different shades.  Once I got on that page (pun intended  LOL)  I just sailed along.  I actually got the idea for this project's color scheme from my da Vinci tags here.  I used the same colors of Glimmer Mist, I just combined all four on my book.  Here is the cover of my "Create Mini Book".

I used White CS for all the pages and used a Teal/Navy color CS for the cover base. Start by cutting 4 pieces of White CS the same size: 7 x 5" for the pages.  And one 5 x 3 1/2" for the cover.  I sprayed both sides of the pages with the Glimmer sprays and dried them.  I used smaller pieces of White and Cream cardstock that were colored the same way to stamp on.  The images and sentiments are stamped with Stream and Pesto Adirondack inks.   I colored on some of the images throughout the book with the two Distress Markers listed in Materials list.

Pages

I threaded the Black ribbon in the tapestry needle for the binding and tied knots in the ribbon.  Here is a close up of the ribbon.

Cutesy Gilded Birdcage Birthday Card

Hi Dreamers!
It's Cutesy today on the Dreamer's blog.  I picked up some new digis and have been playing around with them.  I can always use a cute birthday card.  So, I made this one with Victorian Birdcage from Meljens.

As this is a digi, I printed the image on white CS and colored with Copic Markers.  I wanted a gilded cage, so I used a gold metallic pen to color the bars of the cage.  

I added a velvet ribbon and Stickles glitter glue.   The sentiments on the inside and outside are from Stampin' Up.  Don't you think the bird is singing "Happy Birthday to you"?  I think so.

Just a nice simple inside with plenty of room for a little note.
