As promised, I am posting two cards that I made that are accented with Metallic Distress stains. The stains are are more on the matte side, but add a lustrous hue. On today's cards, I used the Metallic stains to add a shimmery border.
Materials List:
Stamps
Large Damask from Feeling Regal-Blockheads Stamps
Inks
Tuxedo black dye ink - Memento
Cornflower and Walnut Antiquing Solution
Orange, Peach spray inks
Brushed Pewter and Antiqued Bronze Metallic Distress Stain - Ranger
Craft sheet- Ranger
Cardstock: White, black, blue and taupe
Pearls
Instructions for card #1:
- The background is made by spraying inks (Cornflower and Walnut) onto a craft sheet and pressing white CS into the ink.
- Dry with a heat tool.
- Stamp with Tuxedo Black dye ink
- Add the Metallic Stain to the edges (Brushed Pewter)
- Layer the card onto a blue card base
- Add pearls
You can see the shimmer of the stain on this view below. Just a nice soft sheen and a great touch on vintage and shabby chic cards.
Card # 2 is made in the same way. The Spray inks used in this card are the Orange, Peach, and Walnut Antiquing. I used Antiqued Bronze on this card for a rusty look.

Notice the soft rusty sheen created by the Bronze stain in this view of the card.
