15 Days of Terror!! Domino Pops??

Hello Everyone!
Today I am a "Petrifying Player" celebrating my buddy Leigh's Domino Art Event: 15 Days of Terror.  The "Petrifying Players" are making some domino art---it has to be Halloween related and a bit scary.  Did I mention that Halloween is Leigh's favorite Holiday??

**********Check out Leigh's Details:
Halloween is one of DominoART's favorite holidays and we love to celebrate Half-O-Ween in May just like Christmas in July!

I will be featuring one FANGTASTIC project every 2nd day throughout May created by my
Petrifying Players!

At the end of May they will be in the running for some spooktacular prizes and vying for your votes!  So stop by, gobble up all their clawesome eye candy and then show them how much their scary projects delightfully terrified you by voting for your favorites starting May 27! *************

I keep a supply of dominoes handy for just such an occasion.  LOL  No, I really do.  LOL  I pulled out a few and made this frightful table decoration.   I am not sure why I was thinking domino pops, but I was. They  just seemed to go together. Take a look.

Materials List:

  1. Wooden Candle holder Cubes (picked these up at garage sale and painted them black)
The Cube Before Painting

  1. Dominoes
  2. Stamps: Googly Ghouls - Stampin’ Up
  3. Jet Black Stazon Ink
  4. Lollipop Sticks - Wilton (in the cake and candy making section of craft store)
  5. Craft Foam Letter Stickers
  6. Orange Polka Dot Ribbon - Michael"s
  7. Copic Markers - Light blue and black
  8. Orange Basket Shred
  9. Black Paint
  10. Glossy Accents

Instructions:
  • Paint the cubes with black paint and let dry
  • Sand the surface of each domino with sandpaper and wipe clean
  • Color the domino with a light blue Copic Marker
  • Stamp the images with Jet black Stazon ink
  • Color the edges of the dominoes with a black Copic Marker
  • Cover the surface with Glossy Accents to seal and let dry

  • Glue a lollipop stick to the back of each domino
  • Tie the ribbon in a bow and glue to the stick--try hot glue or Fabri-Tac glue
  • Stick a foam letter to each stick.  I spelled out BOO
  • Put some of the Basket Shred into the hole in the cube---the hole was sized for a candle --which was too large for the lollipop stick.  I put some poster putty in the hole to hold the stick.  Hot glue would work too.
  • Place the lollipop stick into the cube

Fun little project!  I can set this out on a table or maybe the mantle for some Halloween fun ---I will wait until October though.  LOL.
I will be back on Friday for my second 15 Days of Terror project--Framed Domino Lollipops!!!  Check back for that.  Head over the The Domino Art blog to check out all the 15 Days of Terror projects!!

^^^^^^^^^^^^A few fun challenges for my Halloween table decoration:
Craft room: recycle
Anything But a Card: colors--I used orange
2 Creative Chicks: Popsicle sticks or food container---I used lollipop sticks.
Just B Creative Crazy: anything goes

See you tomorrow for a Moon Goddess project with Lost Coast Designs!
Love ya.
