Fancy Wedding Cake with Pieced Background

 Hello Friends,

Back with another set of cards that have a pieced background.

The background was created by cutting strips of decorative paper and laying them down on an adhesive sheet.  The backgrounds were then cut to size.  I had fun with this background technique and made a lot of cards using them.  I was also able to use up lots of my decorative paper scraps.

The focal point on this card is a wedding/birthday cake.

Stamps and Die cut set: Happy Birthday to You from Stampin' Up

Colored with Copic markers

Since this is a wedding cake, I added lots of tulle.

The second card is for a birthday. I die cut the sprays from silver paper and tucked in around the flowers.

Post number three of my pieced backgrounds is up next time.  Hope you stop by to see what the next cards look like.  Give this background technique a try. It is quite easy and has lots of possibilities.

See you next time

Happy Birthday Balloons with Pieced Background

 Hello Everyone,

Enjoying a break from winter weather. And, looking forward to spring. Wanted to share this bright cheerful birthday card.  I used a balloon die cut for the focal point.

The background was created by cutting strips of decorative paper and laying them down on an adhesive sheet.  The backgrounds were then cut to size.  I had fun with this background technique and made a lot of cards using them.  I was also able to use up lots of my decorative paper scraps. So win-win.

Twine was used as the balloon string.

Very fun card.  Today's post is the first of my striped background cards.  I kid you not when I say I made a lot of them.  Well, I had a whole package of those adhesive sheets and wanted to do something with them.  I used many different color schemes and stamps to make the cards.  I enjoyed the creative process and seeing how different I could make each card look with the same background.

Next time I will have another version of this background technique.

See you then!

Happy St Patrick's Day

 Hello Everyone,

Made a few St Pat's cards this year with a cute llama stamp set. Llamas are colored with Copic markers and fussy cut. The rainbow stamp is in the set too.  I layered it with a cloud punched shape.

May the luck of the Irish be with you!!

Humor is So Good for You Part 2

 Hello Everyone,

Back today with a few more of the humorous cards I made. See the others here.  On this set of cards, I used teddy bears instead of girls.  Again, I think this sentiment really sums up life right now. LOL

Sentiment stamp: RWD-885 from Funny Bones by Riley & Company

Couch and small teddy bear stamp: Have a Seat from AALL & Create

Chair with Bear: Unwind from Penny Black

I used the decorative papers to simulate floor carpet and wallpaper.

I added this cute little teddy to the couch for this card.

On the inside I stamped the rest of the sentiment.  I used markers to ink the top half of the stamp, cleaned the stamp and used the marker again to ink the bottom half of the stamp for the inside of the card.

This version has a big fluffy teddy bear in a comfy chair sipping hot cocoa.

Hope you got a chuckle for these humorous cards like I did.  So glad you stopped by today.  See you next time

Humor is Good for you

 Hello Everyone,

I thought we could all use a little chuckle.  Therefore, I am sharing some humorous cards that I made.  I think this sentiment is so appropriate for my life these days.  LOL.

Sentiment stamp: RWD-885 from Funny Bones by Riley & Company

Couch and Girl stamp: Have a Seat from AALL & Create

I used the decorative papers to simulate floor carpet and wallpaper.

On the inside I stamped the rest of the sentiment.  I used markers to ink the top half of the stamp, cleaned the stamp and used the marker again to ink the bottom half of the stamp for the inside of the card.

Another version with different colors and papers.
I used the marker technique for the sentiment on this card too.

I stamped the entire sentiment for this version.  Because it fit so well on this die cut. LOL

I just love these cards and have already sent some out.  Will be sending more out this month.  I also made some teddy bear versions which I will share in my next post.  So glad you stopped by today.  See you again soon.

Manly Valentine's Day Cards

 Hello everyone,

Back today with my manly (or masculine) Valentine's Day Cards.  The cards would be appropriate for adult or child.  I used a cute truck stamp from the Stampin Up set called "Best Delivery". The sentiments are also in this set. I personalized the cards by matching the truck color to the color of the truck owned by the recipient.  Trucks were colored with copic markers. And I used up all my red decorative papers making my Valentines this year.  LOL

So, hope you have enjoyed all the Valentines this year.  I will have more cards in the next post.  Maybe something humorous.  We all need a reason to laugh these days.

See you soon.
