My Last Christmas Card...I Think!

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick post today. I have another Christmas card for you today. I think this will be the last Christmas card design for the year. I am going to make about 12 cards from this design and that should be it . I am closing the list! This is a quick and easy card. Take a look.

I used a Cuttlebug folder , cut the piece to size and layered. I added a pretty ribbon, some gems, and a sentiment from My Sentiments Exactly. Cs: Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip from Stampin' Up. Ink: Chocolate Chip from SU and a metallic gold to add color to the sentiment tag. Here are some detail shots.

Dasher II Christmas Card

Hi Everyone,

As promised, I am posting more of my Christmas cards. I made about 10 or twelve of this design. It is a fairly large card - 4 1/2 x 6 1/4 inches. This is similar to a larger card I made this summer. I re-sized it to make it more mailing friendly. It is still a little bumpy, but I think it will get through the sorting machine (at the Post Office) okay. I changed out the ribbon on the second card.

I used the Dasher stamp and an older Tis the Season stamp from Stampin' Up. The cs is Sage Shadow (SU). The DP is all from K & Company. I stamped Dasher and die cut him. Then painted a coat of Shimmer paint over the whole image. I punched the scallops from DP and added a Snowflake ribbon.

That snowflake stamp is from Inkadinkado.

And here is the card with a red ribbon. Everything else is the same.

Very Vintage Butterfly

Hi Everyone,

I am back today with another Stamping Vacation Challenge blog Design Team card. This one is for the Very Vintage challenge and this month the challenge is to use:

Newspaper

The prize is a $15.00 gift certificate for Cardmad Fairy and there will also be a $10.00 gift certificate to Scrap Attack!

Using newspaper sounds easy enough doesn't it. I also used the sketch from Crafts 4 Eternity to get me going. I changed it slightly. I omitted the square.

I had this Chinese newspaper in my stash. I think it came in a big bag of scraps I picked up at a stamping/knitting store last year. Take a look at the card and then I will explain how I made it.

This is a A2 size card. I started with a card base made from Bravo Burgundy Textured CS (Stampin' Up). I tore strips of the newspaper and distressed them with Vintage Photo distress ink (Ranger). I glued the strips of newspaper down onto the card at an angle. I added a strip of fabric and a piece of lace (I lightly added some distressing ink to the lace). I had this doily in my stash (no source). I distressed it with Vintage Photo. The Butterfly is a digi image from Cardmad Fairy. I painted it with Twinkling H2O's and went over it with Vintage Photo ink. I cut out the image and added to doily with dimensionals. The lovely sentiment is from My Sentiments Exactly! which I stamped with Bravo Burgundy ink (SU). I also added two rows of gold brads. And here are some detail shots:


And, since I decorated the inside too, I thought I would show you that.

This little butterfly is in the same set as the sentiment from My Sentiments Exactly.

Swan Christmas Card

Hi Everyone,

Well, I thought I was done making Christmas cards. But, I sat down yesterday to write them out. And you know what happens...You go ,"Oh I want to send so and so a card too". And before you know it you are 10 cards short. So, I am back in the studio today making more cards. This is one of them. I used a DeNami Swan stamp.

The Sentiment stamp is from Studio G. The CS is white, Real Red (Stampin' UP). the DP is from Provo Craft. I stamped the Swan in Real Red ink (SU) and the sentiment in Garden Green (SU). I masked the swan and did not reink before stamping the next image. I wanted it to look like swans swimming.

I used a Stampin' Up punch for the edge and lots of Marvy Punches. To add the beads and buttons, I used Pioneer's Embellishment glue stick. I ran it around in the areas where I wanted the beads to go. Then I sprinkled the beads on and gently pressed them into the glue. Let the glue dry before handling too much. That glue should hold well, but it will be a delicate card that I will not trust to USPO. LOL. Here are some more view for you.

Snow Cold Penguin

Happy Monday,

Today I have a winter/holiday/missing you card. I have used a digi image from Cardmad Fairy. This is my Design Team card for the Stamping Vacation blog Color Combo challenge. This month, we challenge you to make a project using the colors:

Red and Gold

Hoping to inspire you to take the challenge, I made this card. Oh, there is a prize too. A $15.00 gift certificate to CardMad Fairy and there will also be a $10.00 gift certificate to Scrap Attack. Sounds good to me!

I colored the digi image with markers. The ovals are a Marvy punch and a Sizzix die cut. DP: Red snowflakes from My Mind's Eye, Red plaid from K & Company. The card base is made from white cs that I sponged with gold metallic ink. I added a cheerful red ribbon and a cutesy sentiment from My Sentiments Exactly. And, I have a couple close ups for you.

You can really see the cuteness of this Penguin image. He looks so chilly and silly. LOL.

Hubby Update: Don made it through his first week of treatment. He was not sick and felt well enough to go into work on Friday. So, I consider that an answer to prayer. But, he had a bad day on Saturday. Again but, he felt much better on Sunday and went off to work this morning. I also want to say an extra special "Thank You" to everyone who prayed for him. Thank you so much for caring.
