Vintage Bird with Pearls

Hi Kids,
Another post today! And it is a holiday weekend. So, we are just relaxing around the house today. Nice time to get my posting done. I have a very vintagey card today. I was inspired by The Play Date Cafe colors.

And a picture from Diva Stampers. The two inspiration images may seem different but they both have a distressed feel and similar colors. The top picture is more earthy and the bottom picture adds a bit of aqua to the same type of colors. So you will see that I added a bit of aqua to my card while also using the mocha, rust and orange.

I die cut a frame using a Sizzix die and layered with lots of papers from SEI and K &Company. The card base is made of Really Rust CS from Stampin' Up. I distressed each piece as I layered and then sprayed with Glimmer Mist. I added some lace, lots of pearls and a dreamy sentiment.

Pooh Bear Birthday Card

Happy Saturday.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. We are having fabulous weather here in Michigan. Nice and cool...for a change. Supposed to heat back up after a couple of nice days. Today I have a cute Pooh Bear card and I used something I haven't used in a long time....a sticker. I have had these cute Pooh stickers for a couple of years and decided to pull them out for Merry's challenge at Merry Made Cards Crafts. I used sketch #120 from Flutterby Wednesdays.

I followed the Sketch fairly closely, but used butterflies instead of a circle and moved the brads a bit.

I sponged some blue ink on the white background of the sticker to unify the composition. The white looked to glaring. All the DP is from Crate Paper. I made the card from the same paper as it has a nice weight to it. I cut the frame with a Sizzix die. I colored the butterflies with Copic Markers. Added some ribbon, four yellow brads, and a metal bee charm.

Purple Dress Form Cards

Hi Everyone,

Today I have some cards I made with Lost Coast Designs stamps. I went all girly with these. There are two color ways with the cards. The first is Purple and second is Pink. The purple and the pink are entered into different challenges. So, you may have to scroll down to get to the color way you are looking for. I will describe the Purple card first. The color scheme was inspired by Embellish Magazine's Color Challenge.

I used a Sizzix die to cut the card. Fold the CS and lay it on the die positioned down from the cutting edge. You don't want to cut the fold. Then dry emboss with a Cuttlebug folder. Punch Two squares with Marvy punch. Stamp the Dress on DP and heat emboss. Stamp dress form on solid CS. Spray both pieces with Shimmer Mist. Arrange on card front. Stamp Face and color. Cut out and add to card with foam squares.

Now, we will take a look at the Pink card which uses the same stamps. Instead of purple I used Pink and the card was made the same way as the purple.

Christmas Minis

Hi Girlfriends,
Today, I have some Christmas Minis for you. They are very, very small. The largest is just 3". I used Real Red CS from Stampin' Up for the card base. I stamped on watercolor paper and distressed with Ranger inks. I die cut the bird and snowman card by placing a folded card in a Spellbinders die with the folded edge about an inch for the cutting edge...so the fold does not get cut. The Pine cone was done using a punch. Just don't put the CS all the way into the punch.
Stamps: Snowman and Bird Ornament from Inkadinkado, Pine Cone and sentiments from SU, Cheer sentiment from Sweet and Sassy.

I colored the Snowman with Copics.

The Bird was water colored with inks.

The Pine cone leaves were water colored with ink and the rest of the color is from the distressing inks.

Hedgehog With Flowers

Hi Gals,

Another great Saturday here in good ole Michigan. Not too hot here today. I have a Hedgehog card for you today. I used the sketch from Friday Sketchers blog.

I stamped the hedgehog (Penny Black Wonderful Clear Set) with Tuxedo Black ink (Memento) and colored with Copics. I added some ink on the background to simulate sky and grass. I kept the layering down to 2 layers of DP (Cosmo Cricket). Now, that was a challenge for me! The CS is Not Quite Navy and Mellow Moss Textured from Stampin' Up. I added a bit of bling and sparkle. And, tied a sheer ribbon in a bow.
