Bella Blog Hop Week 4

Hello Friends,

It is week 4 of the Bella blog Hop. The hop starts with Denise and ends with Erin at Scrap Stamp and Be Merry. Read all about Bella on her web page. I know her story will touch your hearts. The blog is all about making cards for Bella. Please send your cards to:

The Bella Tucker Fund
P.O. Box 199
Londonderry NH
03053 USA

Check out the blog hop. There are lots of beautiful cards for Bella and some sweet blog candy too. Here is my week 4 card for Bella,

I started with a piece of white CS. I repeatedly stamp the large flower (from Stampin' Up) in different color inks from Memento: Sweet Plum, Lulu Lavender, and Lilac Posies. And the stamped a few with a metallic ink from Color Box. Then I sponged in some color in the empty areas and hit it with a heat gun. I trimmed the piece to size and stamped in black ink Alpha Collage from Hampton Arts. I added some layers of CS and a ribbon. I put the sentiment on the inside and stamped a few of the flowers as well. Get hoping! Have a great day.

Operation Write Home Cards for Christmas

Hi Everyone!
I know it sounds too early for Christmas, right??!! But, if the cards are to get to our Heroes by Christmas, we have to make them very early. I whipped up about 20 Christmas cards to sent to Operation Write Home. I also have 22 all occasion cards in the box which will go out today.

Here are the latest CARD DEADLINES

Postmark by these dates at the LATEST:
Halloween: Sept 20
Thanksgiving: Oct 1
Christmas: Oct 30

October 30th seems like a long way off, but when you get busy with all the fall cards, Halloween cards, Thanksgiving cards, and Christmas cards, you find that you have run out of time. So I like to get them done early. Then I can spend time making all my fall cards for friends and family. I send out lots of cards in the fall.
I kept the cards simple this time so that there will be no issues with mailing. Bling is nice, but it does get stuck in the USPO sorting machines.
I made some nice, bright, cheerful cards. The DP is from K & Company. The stamp is from the In Any Event set by Stampin' Up.

And then some more neutral colored cards. The stamp on this card is an older stamp from Stampendous. I found it at a garage sale. I just love it. I stamped it in Chocolate Chip and Old Olive (SU).

The reindeer is from Stampin' Up. The DP is from Anna Griffin.

Well, I have to get these all packed up and run up to the Post Office. Hope you are having a great day.

A Sketch, Color Challenge and more

Good Morning Everyone,
Hope your day is starting off well. I spent the morning working on a challenge card. I received this great new stamp from Wiff Of Joy and could not wait to try it out. I used the sketch from Paper Take Weekly Tuesday Challenge and the color scheme from Color Throwdown #100. The Theme is from The ABC Challenge which is "Y"...You and Me. I thought my new stamp fit this theme perfectly...the sweet little Wee and her lamb. So cute.

The image was watercolored with the Throwdown colors:

Baja Breeze

Real Real

Regal Rose

Certainly Celery

I also used these same colors of CS. All from Stampin' Up. The accents used were: Cuttlebug small embossing folder Hearts (2x2) Which qualifies the card for the 2x2 Challenge on the Cuttlebug Spot Blog. I also added some stamped stars (stamp from SU) that I cut out. The stars theme is from the Critter Challenge Blog #21. Well, I really challenged myself to see how many elements I could incorporate into the card. It was fun! Well, I should probably spend some time with my significant other now. He is practicing his electric guitar. Yes it is loud, but he does have it turned down. Oh, sounds as if he is finished . I think I"ll go and make some coffee. Have a great day friends.

Challenge Fruity Card

I'm back again.
This is what happens when it is too hot to go outside.
Sarah Martina's blog is hosting a challenge called Cupcards {2 Go} July Challenge. The theme is "Fruity". Here is my "Fruity" card.

The stamp is Pear from Rubber Stampede. On Old Olive CS (SU), I stamped the pear with Black ink and colored it in using Cottage Ivy and Pear Tart - all from Memento. I masked the pear and stamped Crosshatch background Stamp from Stampin' Up with Certainly Celery ink (SU). I added Chocolate Chip CS layers and lots of DP (Good Morning Sunshine from SU). The sentiment is from Impression Obsession. The rhinestone accents are from K & Company. Well, that's it for me today. For sure this time LOL.

Happy Wednesday!
Although it is Wednesday, I have a card finished for the Mojo Monday Challenge Sketch #146.

I followed the sketch relatively closely. I used the Frame Scallop Oval die cut from Sizzix for the center motif. The little bird is from Hero Arts. The DP is from Crate Paper the Lillian collection. I made the card from Blush Blossom (Stampin' Up).

This card also qualifies for the Clearly Delightful Challenge. The theme for the challenge is "Bling, pearls, and buttons...you can one or all of them. So I added lots of bling to the card. Diamonds galore. Well, they are just rhinestones but, we can dream can't we? And I used some glitter paper too.

Another super hot day here. I am going to relax inside.

Have a great day!

Cards for Michelle Oatman

A Spoonful of Sugar is having a card drive for Michelle Oatman. Michelle suffered a severe injury to her eye several weeks ago. She is struggling and trying to adjust to seeing with one eye only. You may be familiar with Michelle's work as she is on many design teams. You may also know her as the donkey lady. She has a farm in Texas with many donkeys and other animals. Check out Michelle's blog here. She will be going in for surgery next week. Please say an extra prayer for her. And, please make a card for her.

Mail your cards to:

This morning, I made this card for Michelle.

From following her blog, I know she loves, loves, loves animals. So I used a cut Penny Black bunny stamp and watercolored the image. I used a bright green CS from Bazill and DP from Cloud 9. I die cut a frame using a Sizzix die . This card will be going off to Texas with hopes that it will lift Michelle's heart. Just knowing that others care will do that. Hope you can make a card too.

Very hot, hot, hot here today. Staying inside with the air on!
