Butterfly Sympathy

Hi Dreamers!
Been busy moving house.  I will be popping in now and then with projects.  But, I think all the crafting supplies will be packed shortly.  I have posts scheduled for October with lots of scary stuff --31 Days if Halloween event on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity Blog.  And, the new Vintage Stamping Challenge.  So check that out.

Today, I have a sympathy card I made for an order.

I stamped and die cut the butterfly (Stampin' Up) from white CS.  I used soft ink colors in yellow, green and blue.  And added a layer of DP.

I punched an extra smaller butterfly (Martha Stewart punch) for more interest and added a narrow ribbon.

Inside, a layer of the same DP and a sentiment.

See you soon.  I better get going.  Mountains of stuff to pack.  We have lived in this house for 25 years, so you can image all that has accumulated.  Have a great day!! Love ya.

Wearing My Crown with Lost Coast Designs

Hello Everyone,

Materials List:
Stamps: Dragon Crown and Cherry Blossoms from Lost Coast Designs
Inks: Jet Black Archival, blue dye, and gray pigment
CS: Gray, white, black, and medium blue
Distress Markers
Corner Punch

Instructions:

  • Make a card from black CS
  • Add a layer of medium blue and black CS
  • On gray CS, Stamp the dragon with Jet Black ink
  • Stamp dragon again on white CS and cut out the head and tail--set aside
  • Stamp dragon again on a piece of scrap paper or thin CS; cut out the entire image for a mask

  • Place mask over dragon stamped on gray CS
  • Ink Cherry Blossoms stamp with gray pigment ink--note: I used pigment ink here because this is a large stamp and the slower drying time of the pigment ink allows me to take my time inking the stamp and making sure of the placement of the stamped image.   I did not emboss  the image.
  • Stamp the Cherry Blossoms and remove the mask

  • Punch one corner of the stamped gray CS
  • Sponge on a little blue dye ink on the edges
  • Color the dragon with Distress Markers
  • Add to card front
  • Color the head and tail of the dragon pieces cut out earlier and add to card with dimensional adhesive
Dare I say my little dragon looks quite content sitting in his garden of Cherry Blossoms and bamboo.  LOL.  Well, he really looks quite snarly and ready to bite the head off of something.  But, all things are possible in Dreamland.  That's why we like it here, right??  Check out more Design Team Projects on the LCD Design blog,  Lost Coasters Review.

Pegasus in Gold

Hi Dreamers!
Here is a project I put together in a group of cards to send to my nephew while away at school.  He really loves getting mail.   Always has since he was a toddler.  So cute!!

The Pegasus image is stamped with gold pigment ink and heat embossed with gold powder.  I the background I stamped various images with gold and light colored pigment inks --but, did not emboss those.

Added some baker's twine and a tan CS base.  Stamped this fun sentiment on the inside.

*****Challenges for Gold Pegasus:

Clear it Out: anything goes and anything stash item -- I had this Pegasus stamped and found it in a box of images.  Really worked out nicely for this masculine
card.
Unicorn Challenge***New challenge blog!!  Theme: Mythical and Magical

Well, that's it for me.  Have to go and cook some green beans--they are from my garden.  Yum.  Very fresh and nutritious.  See you next time!  Love ya.
